Default Does anyone want to try and start a band?

I've been getting really into music lately, writing alot and practicing with my current band... but I'm worried things aren't going to work out with them. I really want to join another band, and was wondering if there's anyone on cp that would like to try jamming or starting up a band sometime? If you're into rock music... Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Wolfmother, Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, The Doors, Iron Maiden, Guns n' Roses, Soundgarden, Audioslave, any of those kinds of music, and you're interested let me know. Preferred ages would be around 18-25, but not required...Also, we would need a place to play, and I have no ideas there. I play the rhythm guitar mainly, keyboards, and drums. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I just took up guitar lessons. I can play a pretty mean rendition of "when the saints go marching in". I have game....

Seriously, if I was better, would love to.

I have no talent, but I'd give managing a try.

I could manage to find beer
I could manage to find women

Am I missing anything?

Iron Maiden, Judas Priest. I can play nearly all the Powerslave album (except solos). And I can learn any Priest song in a day, minus solos.

Have you recorded anything of your own? I usually goof around with my webcam and record the odd riff I get.

those are some of my favorite bands and I love playing their music. I'm an expert on guitar and bass, can only play easy-medium on the drums tho.

i would be in, but it seems that you are taking it kinda serious and for me it would be more of a jam every so often type thing.

Tone deaf, I can't play an instrument
Tone deaf, I can't even sing
Tone deaf, I have to wear earplugs, the noise makes my ears ring...

All I can do is shout, louder and faster then most...

Put me in coach!

We have a few recordings, i'll show you if interested. They are pretty crappy quality, but just give you a bit of an idea the kind of style i'm into. Let me know if you want to hear them, or if you'd like to meet up sometime and try and sort something out.

Are you talking about rock band? Or real instruments? If real instruments... same as above.

And yea... I'm talking serious business, I really wanna play some shows and such. If I could just find one or 2 people who are really into music and have similar tastes as I do, I think we could get a killer lineup going and play some shows relatively soon.

Im' in a band right now, but we just threw it together without too much recruiting, and 3 of our members musical style are completely different than me and our other guitarist. And quite frankly, my other guitarist's ego is starting to drive me nuts, so I'm hoping to upgrade.

Man that sounds like it would be a blast, it's right up my alley (drummer). I just want to see what direction I'm going in the coming months before I commit to anything. I kind of have a band right now, but the music isn't quite where I'm at musically, which makes it feel more like a job than something fun.

I would love to be. However, I suck. Maybe when I learn more than 3 songs I'll give you a call haha.

I play bass. The summer has been a little hectic for me so I wouldn't be free until the fall but I am interested in some jam time.

Are you interested in just jam time or in meeting up once a weekish to practice and write material and try and start something up?

Before I commit to anything I would have to meet the people involved and make sure we are on the same musical page. My music writing skillz are not the best but if you come up with a nice riff I can lay down a bass track to it.

Most of my gigging experience has been covers not originals.

So to answer your questions, yes to both

OH, and I am 26, not sure if that eliminates me as you wanted 18-25 :P
