Default Win95 on iPhone?

http://www.macrumors.com/iphone/2009...ing-on-iphone/

Crazy!

Edit: I can already run Windows on my mac through a remote desktop app, but this is pretty cool. It runs through an emulator, so it doesn't replace the iPhone OS. Performance is still pretty wonky though.

Pfft. I want to see a real OS. Like the C64's.

Yeah for sure. Just the idea of actually be able to run different OSes (as needed) is pretty cool though.

Once they figure out a way to port XP and make it stable, then I will be stoked!

Why would you want Win95? Seems like quite a bit of effort just to play minesweeper.

The point isn't really that it's Win95... the point is that it's something other than OSX.

I don't know, but what would be really cool is to load the Win95 simulator and then on top of that load the TRS-80 Model I simulator and then sit down to enjoy a game of Scarfman or Dancing Demons.

I'm not saying I would... but why turn down the opportunity? Besides, it's running in an emulator. Think of it like using a Windows VM on a Mac.

If the potential is there, why on earth would we not want the option? Imagine actually being able to boot up Win95 in an emulator and actually edit an Office doc inside an actual Office environment... from your iPhone. I haven't met an app from the App Store that actually nails the whole Office doc thing 100% yet.

I do find it surprising that Microsoft hasn't released a Word for the iPhone app yet. They could charge $30 for that and make a killing. (I'm sure there are other mitigating factors -- Windows CE still around? )

But still, I gotta say. Win 95? eeeew

It's been so long since I've seen Win95 in action... I see what you guys are saying now. WinXP would be nicer (or even 98), but I don't know if the phone can handle something like that. XP is pretty bloated, relatively speaking.
