Computer trouble

so I think my desktop kicked the bucket at home, when I go to turn on the power the keyboard just flashes once and the speakers "pop". Is it just in need of a new powersource or am I looking at further problems?

pull the power from video card or one of the hard drives or cd, dvd drives and
see if it will start.
