Seriously, I like the guy and all, but this is exactly why it needs to stop. He's just being an idiot. Every game. And finally, someone got hurt. He seems to think he has some sort of impunity out on the ice, but one day, he'll get plastered.

On breakaways? I can see doing it the odd time, but every game? Ya he's gonna get his lunch handed to him one game

Yeah he usually finds 1 or 2 opportunities per game. I always cringe when I see him going for it.

No one yet. I'm pretty pumped about tonight. We're tied with like 3 other teams at 8 points, while the Punishers have 2 more points than us with one more game played.......and I get to play two games tonight, which is always fun.

Having played against this goalie, I can confirm that he is a clown on the ice. He had a couple of unnecessary temper tantrums in the game against us. I think that if one would videotape him coming out of the net to take out someone's knees and show it to him, he would be extremely embarrassed and hopefully stop doing this.

He may be a likable guy off the ice, but he has some growing up to do.

The problem is, like most goalies, if they're even BUMPED by an opposing team's player, his teammates have a hockey code to uphold and protect their tender. And therein lies the problem. He can go around smashing into players and not get called/suspended because as a goalie, there's a expectation that they won't get involved physically and refs will usually not call it. He's exploiting that as well as exploiting the fact that players aren't expecting him to come out and try and Phaneuf them. That's exactly how folks get hurt in a nothing, recreational hockey game.

But, if someone wants to do something about it, he'll face the wrath of an entire team coming to the 'aid' of their goalie. Chances are, you'll face a blocker to the chops and a lengthy suspension and he'll get, you guess it, nothing. He knows this. And exploits it. He knows he's safe from repercussions both on and off the ice. He's well over 30 pims, and still isn't suspended. Why ?

I guarantee he wouldn't be pulling this crap if he knew he'd have to go 1-on-1 against a player. Even though his teammates are well aware of his antics on the ice, they'll still come to protect him. I'd like to think for once, they'd say: "Ah, let him answer the bell for all the crap he pulls for once." That'll never happen.

But that's why I'll say it now. If he pulls that crap against us next game, we're declaring open season on him and we'll fight our way out of a game like the Puckers normally do.

Yea I was pretty surprised he didn't get a penalty, maybe flameswin can tell me how far away I was from the puck... I dont I was that close. He didnt touch the puck he just took me out.

Oh by the way I got my first penelty minutes of the year in this game, man was it frustrating playing with my team.

No, I was watching the whole thing, he definitly had no intention of going for the puck. He just saw you coming and dove at you. I'm always surprised when he doesn't get called on it.

Cool, now we'll just see if Dan shows up, then we'll have 13.

Although, I got an email from furlat saying he's a gametime decision. But I likely won't heard from him until around 5.
