It's the way you're going about this that is annoying. It reminds me of those posters that make an outlandish claim (I'm not saying your claim specificly is outlandish) and then sit back and go "okay, now that I've made this claim, it's up to the rest of CP to go out and do some research and present a bunch of facts to prove me wrong, or else I'm right."
Johnny Cash was hugely influencial, and your comments are very childish, and honestly don't sound like they're coming from a 27 year old man. The fact that you're using the fact that you hadn't heard of him before this thread shows how this debate is going to go. I'm not so in love in Cash that your comments about him being a dinsoaur and irrelevent are going to make me upset or lash out at you, however, those comments do prove that you know very little musical history.
Here's the thing, if you knew how popular Johnny Cash was and how influencial was on so many musicians, but just didn't like his music, that would be one thing, and most people would be able to live with that. but to say that he's irrelevent and that you apparantly don't know anything about him is just silly.

I'm not even messing with people. I literally heard about Johnny Cash from this website.
The guy might have been big, but he wasn't the greatest. That's my whole point.

This all makes sense.

Albums sold does not equal musical greatness. People buy crap all the time, especially when it is marketed to be "hip". I'd bet that a large portion of people who bought Michael Jackson albums did so just to "fit in".
It's like saying McDonald's is the pinnacle of cuisine because they have served over 1 billion people.

In this case it's even about album sales. It's about being a pioneer. What other artist took money out of his own pocket and made a video like Thriller?

It's quite obvious that you don't get it.
I don't think anyone has argued that Johnny Cash was "bigger" than Michael Jackson. He wasn't as famous. You Win!
Michael Jackson was certainly more famous than almost anyone in the world. Does that make everyone else, including the people you have somehow never heard of, "irrelevant"?
Does Michael Jackson's fame make him the greatest musician the world has ever heard?
Nope.
Well, maybe it does. Name a musician you like (besides Michael Jackson, if there are any others). By your logic, Britney Spears is "better" than whoever you name, because she's more famous.
I honestly am embarrassed to be be engaged in this idiotic argument.

Cash has sold over 50 million records, so obviously a few people have heard of him.
While not reading the whole thread, I highly doubt anyone claimed Cash was the greatest, maybe one of the greats.
Everything is subjective and you just have to learn to live with it. Jackson may have sold 750 million records, but I've never owned one and you couldn't pay me enough to goto any of his concerts. Of the two, I'd pay money to see Cash before Jackson

If somebody can't type a proper sentence, I'm at fault? How does a guy from the Beatles get outbid for his own song catalogue?

That's your opinion right. I'm glad you actually posted a rational response. Well it would be hard to see jackson anyways. He never came to Canada besides his Victory tour.

What does this have to do with the number of albums The Beatles sold?
