Default Parking downtown Greaserville overnight

Im heading to Edmonton for the weekend at the end of July and am trying to figure out parking. The hotel we're at seems to be charging an arm and a leg, so IM trying to figure out what to do.
We're at the Corutyard Mariott near the convention centre (apparently)

I haven't done it before, but if you want to avoid parking downtown, park on the southside near the university and then take the Etrain downtown. They just opened a new station further down from the university by some mall, you could park in that parking lot and take the train downtown.

Personally I don't think you'd have any problems parking at the university overnight, especially at this time of year. There are tons of parking lots around there, you shouldn't have a tough time finding a spot. In fact there's a huge parking lot for the jubilee right beside the Health Sciences Etrain station, as long as there aren't any big events you shouldn't have a problem finding a space there.

I thought this was a thread about where to park a Camaro without it losing its wheels overnight...

Southgate mall is where the new LRT station is in Edmonton. I wouldnt advise parking overnight as you will get ticked there.

Also downtown Save On Foods, wouldnt advise there either. University area might be the best shot but its the same as Calgary with the no parking without permit. So long as someone isnt an a$$ you will be ok.

I am surprised to figure out what you think the outrageous fee they are charging for parking. Its $30 a day to park in Calgary. Its got to be less there no?

The LRT isn't open at Southgate until April.

You could try the Library parkade a couple of blocks away from the Courtyard.

Here are the rates.

I'll actually be visiting a friend who lives near the UofA on Whyte Ave. Perhaps I will park at her place (if I can avoid my car getting lit on fire).
Looks like that Library parking is $20 a day on weekends, not really worth it since the hotel charges $22 lol
