Doh. I looked into MRC and the website says applications are closed for Sept 2009. I'd have to wait until Sept 2010.
Damn. Why couldn't I get laid off two months earlier!

In hindsight I may have missed the point of your post. Were you meaning that you don't see the point of complex high school math?

He was saying that he has Math 30 from 10 years ago, but wouldn't be able to pass today's Math 30 entrance exams.

Don't get me wrong, I can still go the high school upgrading -> university route now... but I'm already 34, and I'm really just looking to add a formal degree to my existing resume. If I can do this with three years at DeVry instead of five years at UofC...

You would be required to take a 4-year degree program.
4-year Bachelor of Technology in Computer Information Systems
4-year Bachelor of Technology in Electronics Engineering Technology
4-year Bachelor of Business Operations programs
That is, as of, this year. Previous "degrees", were more like diplomas or at best, applied degrees.

After reading through some of the issues in this thread, it actually make me glad I did things the "traditional" way and went to college right after high school and got all the degrees etc. right off the bat. Every once in a while i question my education and wonder if all the time, effort, and money was worth it, but I guess I haven't had to deal with all the issues that come up if you don't get the education.

Btw, is it not possible to take a semester/year at Devry and then transfer over to SAIT when you can in 2010, hopefully with a few credit courses under your belt?

It's done in three years. Classes are year-round.
It's a Bachelor of Computer Science, too.

Complete a 4-year bachelor's degree programs in this traditional timeframe or accelerate your learning with year-round course scheduling – and earn your degree in less than 3 years. If you already hold a degree or diploma, you may qualify for our 16-month bachelor's degree fast-track program.
I can't seem to find info on the Bachelor of Computer Science you speak of.
http://www.devry.edu/calgary/program...ms-offered.jsp
Found this.
The Government of Alberta has granted DeVry Calgary accreditation to award the following baccalaureate degrees: Bachelor of Business Operations, Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems (I'm guessing this is what you meant?) and Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology.
I am thinking of going back to school as well.
Does APEGGA have anything to do with these degrees? That would be the measuring stick.
Found this on beyond, really telling...

I dunno about any of that stuff, but the link to the program page is right there on the left.

Now you can earn your bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry in just 3 years and prepare yourself to be a leader in this dynamic field, designing and implementing solutions to exciting business challenges.

Edit: And just to point out, it's not three years because it covers less stuff or whatever. It's three years because you go year-round instead of taking summers off.

The links are there, all the info that I posted, was from the DeVry page.
You shouldn't have to defend your prospective school, you shouldn't be solicited to go to their school, my answer, NO DEVRY IS DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT, IMO.

Just another FYI, if are interested in a University program:
At the U of C, you can there are spring and summer semesters. Each is two months, so the classes (and material) are jammed together. I couldn't see taking more than 2 courses at a time (and I doubt they'd let you take more). Naturally, the course selection is greatly reduced, so you have to make selections wisely. Few programs in your major will be offered, so you could take optional courses at this time to fill up your required course total. Doing this doesn't add up to a degree in three years, but you could make it in 3 and a half.

In my case, this means Math and English 30. I have no problem with the English side, but I don't have anywhere near the level of knowledge required to pass a 30-level entrance exam in Math.

You could consider doing the high school courses you need really quickly online. I though about going a different direction and decided that I needed to upgrade high school, and in a very short period of time got 100% in Psychology, 98% in Sociology and 100% in Math 30 pure. Trust me, high school courses are ridiculously fast and easy when you're not thinking about the bell ringing at 3:30 so you can meet up with your friends and laughing at johnny Mcclasscclownian. Especially if it's only a couple.

Dude. The Bachelor of CIS is a 3 year program. It's not a sepcially-accelerated version of a 4 year program. You go year-round and finish it in 3 years.
I've already been offered the seat in the program, and the link I gave you clearly spells it out.

I should also add that those online courses trim a lot of the unnessecary "fat", and allow you to basically "show an understanding" of a concept, do a unit quiz, then move on to the next unit. Instead of sitting there and doing 50 algebra questions so the teacher can nurse her hangover with her coffee.
