Actually, I really don't think there is anything wrong with the title of your thread. Its the truth. Its your subsequent posting(s) that people have a problem with.

Alright we get it, keep to some kind of vaguely ontopic, start a new thread if you want to talk about watches.

That's what goes on here though. Homers take pot shots in all the forums at outsiders and the mods just watch.

I wouldn't expect anything less.

My apologies for taking it down the 'watch' road. Just figured it would be best to counter idiocy with idiocy.

I'm going to my summer home in less than a month.

If I post my receipt on here, these idiots who question me will still act the same.

I just wanna see you guys eat crow, so it will be posted.

Well, I certainly applaud anyone wanting to climb a hundred hills, but take it from this old hill rat, I've spent my entire adult life in the hills, and a program like this one can do more harm than good.
If you only train one part of your body (and that's all a single exercise like pushups is going to do for you), you're setting yourself up for injuries down the road. I've seen it a hundred times.
It's like putting a powerful engine in a stock Toyota Tercel. What will you accomplish? You'll blow out the drive train, the clutch, the transmission, etc., because those factory parts aren't designed to handle the power of an engine much more powerful than the factory installed engine.
Push-ups basically only train the chest muscles and to some extent, the triceps. What you really want to do is train your entire body, all the major muscle groups (chest, back, abdomen, legs, shoulders and arms) at the same time, over the course of a workout. And don't forget your cardiovascular work!
I'm proud of you guys wanting to do this. Three cheers! Falling in love with hill climbing, eating right, etc., is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself. And you WILL fall in love with it if you can just force yourself to stick with it a year or two and experience the amazing progress you'll make.
But do it right, okay?
My advice, find a good hill, with qualified hill climbers who will design your programs for you (especially in the beginning, until you get the hang of it yourself) and guide you in your quest for physical fitness. Thirty to 45 minutes a day, three days a week, is all you'll ever need to do (I refuse to believe anyone is so busy that he or she cannot make time for that, especially considering how important it is).
And don't worry about being embarrassed or not being in shape the first time you walk to the hills. You have to start somewhere and almost every one of us were there ourselves at one time. So no one will say anything to you and very, very quickly you will progress way beyond that stage anyway.
Now get out there and do it! :-)

Ok.... talking about something different...

The effect that drugs has on a musician's talent. Do drugs add to the talent level or reduce the talent? Most great talents have had some kind of crutch whether it be alcohol or drugs.

Was Dali on drugs when he painted his greatest works of art? What about Picasso? We all know about the Beatles, Hendrix, the Doors, etc. etc.
Are drugs and artistic inspiration and greatness synonymous?

Athletes perform best when they're on drugs. Musicians are no different.

From what I've seen, it increases talent, but for a short term.

It's too bad all these people died from them.

It was their choice though.

So angry. No one is interested in your receipt. This is all directly because you picked Johnny Cash as an example of a weirdo then went on your Jackson rules, Cash sucks tangent.

Whether or not someone is a fan of Cash, saying he's irrelevant etc is ignorant. Jackson had worldwide fame, this is true, but I might go so far as to say that Cash's influence as a musician on other musicians was probably greater than Jackson's.

This is sort of true but so what? MJ is insignificant compared to Jesus but who gives a flying you-know-what.

Sure, MJ was, is and always will be a bigger musical icon to more people then Cash was. MJ sold more records, is more famous, was way more effed up but so what?

It isn't like we're talking about MJ versus John Mayer. Cash was a respected, highly influential artist in his own right.

The only way he should be compared to MJ is that they both were at the forefront of musical revolutions. You just can't keep saying Cash was insignificant because he wasn't.

Are you proposing some sort of crow-based Meatloaf? If you are, then I will stand tall and hartily applaud your unrestrained ambition. Meatloaf has stayed the same for too long, the world changes, so must Meatloaf.

Receipt for what? The summer home?

I wish I had a summer home. When you have a "summer home" you know you are truly wealthy. Sigh.... I just have a 365 day home.... winter, summer, fall, and spring.

And you posted no pot shots right?

You report posts, I come and post to try and get the thread back onto something of a topic, and then you whine that the mods just watch.

Whatever, there are a million things better than trying to sift through all the immature bickering.
