Did you just say that only 5 out of 100 people know who Johnny Cash is?

Based on Walk the Line alone I'd bet that 1 in 4 could get it.

How does Johnny Cash being in the Rock & Roll hall of fame show how big Michael Jackson was?

You're hilarious. Just because you live under a rock and didn't know that Johnny Cash was a drug addict and one of the most influential country singers in history you assume that everyone else is just as uninformed? Lemme guess, your next revelation will be that Kevin Lowe was a terrible GM.

Don't come in here with your "logic"! We're in a magical world, where some of his posts make sense. I demand you cease and desist with any kind of fact, common sense or intelligence. You can't explain the train to crazytown, you just hop on and enjoy the ride. Thank you.

I am betting NHL009 "knows" Michael very well. I bet he even calls him Mick.

This thread goes from awesomeness to epic fail almost on a post to post basis.

Cash's influence can be felt from artists in almost all genres of music. From Country, rock, pop and metal artist will say that some where down the line Cash was a influence on their music.

Jackson's influence can only be felt by a select few and I don't think Caulkin or Feldman are coughing up any details until the offers for the book rights increase.

Your post fails when you talk about influence. It doesn't even compare. You're comparing hillbillies being influenced to Michael Jackson? lol.

Then why are you selling it on the internet? Tough times? Trying to scrounge up some more disposable income so you could ride the train at Neverland again?

In which continent? If it's the streets of the USA or Canada I'd say a lot of people would know who Cash was. You probably have a point about MJ being more familiar to people in a wider selection of places on Earth. I don't think anyone really wants to deny that Jackson was one of the most popular entertainers of all time and that his musical influence was immense.

I just don't think trashing Johnny Cash is really all that warrented nor valid. Ask anyone familiar with Rock or Country music and they would probably argue that Cash's life and music inspired and influenced new generations of music dramatically. Cash was a legend. You'd be just as ignorant to claim otherwise as those you denounce as who are dismissive towards Micheal Jackson.

Hilarious.

At least pick a relevant artist.
Michael Jackson hasn't been relevant in over 20 years.

The Beatles are the most influential band in the history of music. Their songs created entire genres of music, the classic example being Tomorrow Never Knows. That song was the very first song to ever use tape loops. So any music that uses loops, samples, etc, owes it's origins to that song.. released in 1966. Psst.. that was Paul McCartney's doing too..

You're crazy and stupid! HA!

My whole point was that Michael Jackson was the biggest. He could go to some poor village in India and they would recognize him.
