I've been in this group for almost 6 years, and I'm the first one on board for anything else. I'm hosting a BBQ for a bunch of co-workers next Friday. I do stuff - just not Stampede. A few people asked, but most people knew I wouldn't be going without me saying anything.

For those who are going to the groups, the Fanattac is selling some Flames stuff at some pretty good prices, including QC jerseys for like $60, and when I looked this evening, a XL Lombardi, S Cammaleri, and a bunch of Aucoins for $109.99 + GST, all red.

Well that was a great first Stampede for me! Chucks and the grandstand show were awesome. Nashville North was kind of a disappointment to me but that probably had to do with the fact that we got there and basically had to leave since some of the girls we were with were much to drunk to continue the night. Then there was the whole walking around downtown alone since everyone went in different directions. All in all, a pretty awesome weekend.
Can't wait for next year so I can (hopefully) do the entire thing from beginning to end, not just the second weekend.

Damn. I hate it when it's over. The week following Stampede is sorta like the drive to the airport to catch the flight home. You're still in your vacation spot but you're leaving. Sorta like all the Stampede paraphernalia still around for the week following. Party time OVA! Booo.
Ah well, it's still just the beginning of summer. Here's to six more weeks of cute chicks in short skirts on 17th ave!

I had an early morning meeting today and as I walked through downtown, I saw all the decorations being taken down and the hay bales being put away. A little sad, yes, but only 361 days until Stampede 2010, and the poster is awesome!
In the meantime, get out and enjoy the Sun & Salsa festival this coming Sunday in Kensington.
