Sandals resorts are excellent. Bonus too is you stay at one but can go to any of them to do stuff. Couples only, no kids.

Cuba is also an awesome choice. I've never been to Jamaica tho, and i'd love to go. I have however been to Cuba twice and absolutely loved it way more than any place i've been to in Mexico.

Just stayed at the Sandals Hicacos in Cuba last week, I'd recommend it to anyone. Cuba's alot cheaper than Jamaica too. If you're really into culture, the thing about Cuba is that it's on a timeline right now. With Obama relaxing relations between the two countries, I'd give it five years tops before Cuba really starts changing. So if you want to experience it the way it is, you need to go now.
...although Jamaica would be awesome too. I'd love to go there someday.

My advice is to avoid Jamaica. Go somewhere that is actually nice, like St. John's. As far as a Club Med type recommendation goes, I'd suggest a place in Mexico called Huatulco, I had the time of my life there.

I stopped in to Montego Bay with the fiancee on a cruise stop. Hated Jamaica. Everyone just wanted to braid her damn hair and the beggars were pushy. We didn't stay in a fancy resort or anything, so that may have been it. Plus, I'm not all that keen being in a place with my fiancee when the locals say "stay on this street. don't go over there, you'll get robbed."
On the flip side, I know plenty of people who have been to Jamaica and absolutely loved every minute of it. I may have just had a bad experience. Take it for what it's worth.

I've stayed in Jamaica twice... once at the Grand Lido Negril and the other as Sans Souci (sp) couples resort in Ocho Rios. I had a good time at both, but there are many, many reasons why I think Mexico is a much better vacation. Jamaica is expensive and its not a good idea to leave the resort.

Jamaica is one dangerous place to be. My sister just came back from there and said she liked the resort but made the mistake of leaving it. Scariest time of her life.
