Wow Wells has really picked it up. His average is now up to .278
I knew he would get things going, now all we need is our pitching to step up.

Chacin continues to amaze me in spite of his high WHIP, low K#'s he manages to keep his ERA in the top-ten in the American league.
Its gotten past the point of "luck" for me anyways.# This young man is poised and confident as hell.# Pitches without fear.
Jiggy I think we are one front line starter away from doing something... It burns me up that JP could have had Ben Sheets for Hudson last season... What would you say?# At least 5 more wins and the Divison lead if he was in our lineup.
|
Its possible. Another solid arm would certainly go a long way in our division.
I hate the idea of trading Chacin so soon though.
|
Where the fata did you get any ideas about trading Chacin from my post?
|
Sorry, that last bit wasn't in response to you.
I've just heard a few rumours about Chacin possibly being trade bait for Burnett. So I think the Jays need another arm, but not at the expense of Chacin.
That was just a standard comment to the masses, not at you. [/b][/quote]
I heard the same rumor Jiggy but honestly I don't see JP making a big splash before sunday. I have read that he is looking for a better backup for Zaun.
As for Burnett, if he is moved it will be to the White Sox. My opinion is that he stays with the Marlins. Ponson will go to Texas for Hidalgo and the O's will send Larry Bigbie to Pitts for Mark Redman.

I didn't see this posted anywhere but if its a fata then fata me.
The Yanks claimed Nomo off waivers from the D-rays, and signed him to a minor league deal. Man they really need help if they are picking up garbage like Nomo.

How many more years does Zaun have?
I head a lot of rumours that Jay P was just gonna look on the waiver wire and nothing serioues just because Quiroz will most likley be ready next year and is a very talked about prospect.
Jays gain ground on Baltimore, NYY and Cle tonight. A big big win with the A's and Sox winning. Sox still havent done enough to imrpess me yet though.

This is beautiful for the Jays in my mind. The deeper this race goes the more it favours the Jays. The Yanks are going out and signing Devil Ray rejects, the Sox mvp Man Ram might want out and all the pressures on the two teams to make it. The longer the jays can keep this a race, the more pressure on the big two. Nobodys expecting TO to be in this, but if the Yanks or Sox were to miss the playoffs, o well that just couldn't happen.

lol at Yanks signing Nomo. As for Quiroz, I think he has some serious health issues. I am not up to speed, but I heard he has lung problems? Can someone confirm that?

Thats the thing about Zaun. No one knows. Not sure if anyone has heard his story, but it wasn't until right before he came to the Jays that he finally kicked his alcohol addiction.
So really we are just now seeing his true potential.

Just watched the highlights of tonights game. That Koskie catch was absurd.
Running back on a sky high fly ball, on an angle, toward the fence..and making the catch.

Poor Zaun hasn't been the same since he had his bell rung at the dish back in May.
Wow, I hope Hinske bought everyone dinner after the game for bailing his ass out with the brutal non catch that turned into a Guerrero home run. He has played pretty well lately, but that was awful.
Kudos to Vernon Wells, the guy has stepped it up and is hitting like we expect him too. His glove is stil golden as well, nice catch by him last night too. And what can you say about Koskie? Unreal. Love to see hustle like that. Frankie Cat needs more kudos as well, he's the hitting machine in July.

Definitely. He was AL player of the week but I haven't heard much about it, atleast not on this board.

Cat is my favorite jay hands down. The guy has always come through for them with timley hitting and is leading our team in BA this year. With him against rightys and Johnson against leftys, I love that combo.

0-0 right now Lackey and Bush both pitching reallly good. Lackeys curve is just killing the Jays. Bush looks like the AAA stint really helped him.

Tie game!
The stuff Rodriguez is throwing is FILTHY! Shattered two bats in a row but both balls landed in for hits.
Jays with a guy at third 1 out - chance to win.

F. Rod's stuff is SO filthy. See the way those curvs just drop in there.....and that fastball on the outside. That's why he's considered best closer in the majors....just some SICK stuff.
Good things the Jays got to him though. Hell of a game, I just turned it on in the bottom of the 9th too.

This game is just ridiculous. Neither bullpen has given up a hit since the 9th, and the game is in the bottom of the 14th.

Gibbons sends Batista out for the 15th. I really, really do not like this move. Miguel has pitched three nights in a row now, and pitched two innings last night.

16th inning now..I think that was Walker coming in?
If the Jays can get through this they do have the top of the order coming up. This feels like the sox/yanks all over again
