I will admit sometimes your not paying attention and you miss the sign, so you try and get in, but who is stupid enough to go all the way to the sign without seeing it? Inconsiderate ######bags.

If you get so pissed off about it, why don't you just move over a lane to the left if you know these mergers are going to wait till the last second?
Saves you a lot of stress.

One more, and this sort of irratates me.
Do not break into a turn. You accelerate into a turn. If you want to drop some speed, break before the turn, then accelerate into a turn. There's a whole physics reason behind it too, but basically its a lot better to accelerate into a turn. I was driving through weaving hills through this small hill top town, and cars in front of me would break as they were turning, and I was behind them wanting to accelerate. Really annoying.

I hear ya, but I'm fairly forgiving of people that brake when turning in residential areas because you just never know when there's a kid or a dog just around the corner, hidden by the parked car. What really drives me bananas is when the guy in front of me brakes when going around a one of those right turn corners on two bigger roads where there's a lane and a triangular median. If he'd just LOOK while he's going straight, he can see what approaching traffic he's dealing with and not have to brake as he's going around the corner.

Unfortunately, in Alberta driver's ed, there is little to nothing that doesn't involve carrying out one action, then waiting, then analyzing the next part, then deciding, then making sure its okay to carry out the decision you made, then actually carrying out the decision you made, and repeat.
Looking ahead as much as possible = good!
I wonder how far in front of their car the average driver is actually looking. I'm willing to bet....its at the person in front of them, exclusively.

some a-hole last night cut over three lanes of traffic in front of my wife and then slowed down to below the speed limit. He then stopped in the middle of the road, got out of the car to tell my wife to "not follow so close". Why don't these people do this when I'm in the car? She was so angry when she got home she was shaking. At least she got a good yell at the guy. Too bad she doesn't have mace.

I hope no one is paying attention to this crap.
You accelerate OUT of a turn, not into it.
Braking or simply decelerating by easing off the gas is required to get through a corner the quickest. Accelerate at the apex of the corner.

Phanuathier should set up a workshop for F1 drivers to share this nugget of wisdom, they've been doing it wrong for so long.

About three years ago I was travelling down 11 Ave SW on my way to work - it was before 8:30 so I didn't slow down to 30 at the playground (zone is 8:30 to 5 or dusk there)- I did look for kids, but oddly enough in my 2 years of driving there, I never saw a soul use that intersection, but I digress. Anyhoo, when I'm rounding the curves near the crowchild/bow trail exits, this guy races up to me (speeding, btw) and starts screaming his head off at me saying "It was a school zone!" I said "It wasn't 8:30 yet!" he said "It doesn't matter, it was a school zone!" - I hollered back at him but he was absolutely enraged - I thought I he was going to hop out of the car and beat me over something that I was absolutely and utterly in the right for doing. It shook me for an hour or so after getting to work and I'm still apprehensive to go down that street. I don't get why guys think they can be such asshats to women if they're alone in a car.

Slow drivers need to die. Not just regular "Hurry the eff up!" people, the other kind. The damn light is green, press on the accelerator. You've got a V6!!! Making me miss the left turn arrow, generally making me angry. Thank you soo much, I hate getting through lights the first time when I'm the THIRD CAR IN LINE.
Oh, an on ramp to the highway? Well, you ought to just go about 20 the whole way, make me almost die as the semi coming up has no choice but to crush my car like a pop can, and then as soon as I actually manage to avoid my demise and get on the highway? You speed up to 80 and go flying down the road. I hate you, and I hope you die in a twisted mass of molten steel and gasoline that makes the opening scene of Final Destination 2 look like an episode of Dora the Explorer.

People slowing down on on ramps bother me. Much like Phanuthier and Shawnski... I really really don't like it when I see brake lights on throughout the entire turn. Please ACCELERATE when you begin to straighten out your car.
Today, during rush hour, I wanted to make a turn out of 14th Avenue onto Southbound Center street (right turn)... the driver in front of me was signalling left, but he is right up against the curb, so I can't turn right. The traffic clears up, for Northbound Center St. (3 lane traffic going north) still doesn't turn, waited a bit longer... still doesn't turn. Finally he signals to turn right... no traffic, doesn't turn... waited, still no traffic, so I said: I've had enough. I hit the horn and he finally turned (and there was still no traffic going south).
I don't get why he was right up against the right curb when he was turning left. If you're turning left and the road's wide enough for at least 3 cars to fit, leave some room so people turning right can get by you!

Are you serious? The guy actually got out of his car to yell at your wife? Have people actually started mating with chickens?

Just off of Bow Bottom Train SE, there is a turnoff to head into Diamond Cove. There is a bus trap right when you turn in. Now I don't know wtf people are thinking when they think they can beat the bustrap, but EVERY SINGLE WEEK I see some bonehead caught in the trap. EVERY SINGLE WEEK!!! Lately me and my buddies actually pull up near them, roll down the windows and point and laugh. If you are one of these people who have gotten stuck in it, please comment as to WTF you think you could have gotten thru.
Thank you that is all.

I swear to f'ing god, the cops need to park themselves on the weave zones between 16th and Memorial, Memorial and Blackfoot and Barlow and 130th. They need to pull over and cut up the licence of every single ###### who doesn't get above 80 in those weave lanes because they are taking the next exit, totablly oblivious to the danger they are creating by forcing the person behind them to try and merge as much as 50kph slower than the going speed on Deerfoot.
The sad part is that every time one of these morons injures or kills someone, they never get stuck with the guilt and memory of it because they are already ahead of the crash they caused and think they were a good driver.

This also shocks and amazes me. I just don't get it. Does the word "impassable" not mean anything to those people? Do they feel they are above the multiple stop signs and "do not enters"? Seriously?
A friend of mine used to live by a bus trap and at least once a week someone would be stuck in it. My favorite was watching people drive up to it, get out and look at the bus trap, get back in their car and pull almost to the edge, get out and start measuring to see if their car is big enough, then get back in the car and drive right in. Not slowly or cautiosuly, but right in like they're quite sure they can make it through. I've often laughed at people when I walked by. The look on their face is priceless.

One of my pet peeves of idiot drivers is those people who do not turn into their appropriate lane.
How hard is this?
One of the worse turns for this is 90th ave SW turning left onto 14st Northbound. Dual turn into 3 lanes, people are all over the place.
Or even at a regular light, I'm turning left and the car behind automatically turns into the outside lane. I am constantly watching and waiting for this and will then put on my signal and purposely cut him off.
Simple rules of the road people, don't be so bloody stupid.

This depends on the situation. If the person turns into the outside lane and keeps going straight, I would support your cause. However, if a person turns into the outside lane and immediately makes a right turn (within a fairly short distance from the intersection). I would back off, because they might not have enough time to get to the other lane. I was taught in driving school (in Alberta) that if your right turn after a left comes up extremely quick, get to the outside lane.

It's never when a quick right is required. I understand that aspect of the situation.
There is always intersections that I drive when an afterward right turn isn't required for a long time.
It's a small pet peeve, but it does drive me nuts.

I don't get this attitude, your cutting people off for making a turn to the far lane is no better than those people who drive exactly at the speed limit and don't allow anyone to pass them. You've decided that you get to enforce the rules of the road.
What does it matter to you if someone behind you turns into the right lane? How does this impact you in anyway? Seems to me you've taken something that is a non-issue and decided you get to be the guy to set other people straight.
