I'll wave at ya when I'm leaving Nashville North with some fake tanned, stretchmarked, stinky cowgirl and you're standing around holding your girlfriend's ass not looking like a ######.

Yep, that pretty much sums up why you wouldn't bother getting dressed up for Stampede.

RIP my friend - err I mean congrats, marriage is wonderful

Sticks and stones, broken bones and all that, but at least I'm comfortable in my shorts and loose shirt.

Is it just me or does this thread title have a little kinky feel to it?

Of course not. Business casual, as always. I may suit up when all of the other dbags at the office head to the rodeo on Friday.

Ya, and then they put on their speedos and head to the beach. I just got back from Cuba, it was pretty easy to figure out who was Euro and who wasn't...

The day I start taking fashion advice from Europeans, someone needs to do me a favour and take me out to a nice shady place in the back yard and end it all.

I feel like an idiot in Western wear; I'm not a cowboy and don't particularly want to be a cowboy, either. On the other hand, I don't really care what other people wear and if you want to dress up, it's no business of mine. Some people look good all duded up; others not so much. As long as they're happy with how they look (and I'm secretly entertained), where's the harm?

First of all, going on rides at the Stampede had nothing to do with it. It is a week-long socializing, drinking-St-Pat's-style, party.

It is also fairly well recognized.

Hahaha, so you're saying I sound like I look a certain way? That makes total sense. You sound like a transvestite.

Apparently the Stampede being world class was worth bringing it back up. Maybe I'm just jaded by this thing because I've been around it for the last 20+ years.

Emo isn't just about looks. "In recent years the popular media have associated emo with a stereotype that includes being emotional, sensitive, shy, introverted, or angst-ridden."

Since this thread has been revived, what exactly is classified as dressed like a cowboy? I'm in my jeans and my plaid Wrangler button-down shirt, does that classify as "cowboy"? Sorry, "cowgirl"? Is there a certain level of cowboy-ness dressing that bothers you or is it any of it?
