I thought it started with the years and years of emotional abuse reaped on him by his father constantly belittling him and telling him how ugly he was that started it. In those same stories of his dysfunctional childhood he talked about how his father would tell him how huge his nose was and what an ugly child he was. He started washing his face in the dark because his "father" had him believing he was hideous. The man was and still is a monster. THAT's who the venom in these threads should be aimed at.
The MJ we saw was a product of a life time of brutal abuse and zero support for anyone surrounding him.
I'm sure that pig farmer out in Vancouver had an awful childhood too. Perhaps the dead girls families should be directing their anger at the pig farmer's parents too, instead of the pig farmer who himself was probably a victim.
No telling what awful stories the pig farmer has about his young life as a child. Why it just breaks my heart.
I can only hope Paris Jackson humanizes Michael Jackson for all those people who only see him as a monster.
"Ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine and I just want to say I love him so much"
One thing the MJ threads has shown me is that there are some people on CP I would really not want to meet in real life. I'm no fan of his and actually don't like his music much at all, but some of the things said in these threads are just disgusting and lack any touch of empathy or compassion or even a modicum of respect for a dead man or his family.

Who's idea was it to trot that little girl out on the stage in front of thousands of people and be asked to speak about her father.
Now thats disgusting! A 12 year old little girl should NEVER be asked to do that on the day they buried her father. What a freak show. Just disgusting.

Sorry H&L, but I don't give two shakes about Michael Jackson or his family. Frankly I don't care about any of the people that die everyday. Further, I don't expect anyone else to care when someone close to me dies. Just because some people aren't being sucked in by this celebrity spectacle doesn't make me a disrespectful monster.

Exactly, I heard that they beat her behind the stage and threatened her at gunpoint in order to get her to say that about her father. I heard she really hated her father and that she was even considering taking the bullet rather than speak lovingly about her father. Thank god you are here Rerun to speak truth to power, to stand up for the little girls of the world who are forced to do things against their will....

I'd love to. People on forums talk a tough game and would never actually step up in real life and voice an opinion.

Unlike your apologist, supplicating cyber-voice right?
What is your logic in saying that unless you advocate this disgusting spectacle you don't 'step up and voice an opinion'? What tribunal do I appear before in order to assure you that I'd say the same thing anytime to anyone?
Furthermore, I'm not sure why my previous posts in this thread were mod-deleted when Reggie's 'stoning and lime pit' comments were deemed reasonable. I'm glad they weren't though as I completely agree.

I enjoyed the memorial and thought it was very touching. Loved all the performances. Only the politicians jesse jackson and al sharpton's speeches were annoying.
I knew when MJ died it was a huge story, but never thought it would be THIS BIG. I think everyone in the world watched!

i didn't even know there was a memorial today. but what i don't get is how Americans couldn't give a crap about another soldier losing their life in Iraq or Afghanistan, but they have to drop everything to mourn some freakshow who overdosed on pain pills. it terrible how overly obsessed our society is with celebrities, regardless of whether they are decent people or not
i had more sympathy for the people that post about losing their dogs than when MJ died

That's how the American media has influenced its public. Dead soldiers only get reported on a slow news day.
MJ's death is a very big deal in a society where what Megan Fox is wearing at the next red carpet is more important than a soldier dying.
