Well...that logo has absolutely nothing to do with the name of the team. Another hockey logo that has to show it has to with hockey by having hockey equipment made a part of it!
First impressions is that I really dig it. Fresh new and a distinct identity. It'll be interesting to see how it looks on a jersey and what the color scheme of the jerseys will be.
I'm thinking red body with black and white...but the logo does remind me of the Miami Heat logo, so it could be a black jersey with red and white
I don't know, I think I like the sketch of a logo on the top of this page better: http://www.abbotsfordheat.com/news/brand-story.php but not sure how well that would translate with colours and on a jersey. The link also discusses the current logo things like how the " The logo represents all the power and passion of the sport through this reference to fire, in both the team name and logo" :P
Tom Mauthe has a background in sales and marketing, he’s a former employee of the Vancouver Canucks, and he enjoys a challenge.
Those traits figure to serve Mauthe well in his new role as president of the American Hockey League’s Abbotsford Heat, where he’ll be tasked with selling a Calgary Flames farm team in the heart of Canucks country.
From the sounds of the people in the front office so far, the Heat are going to have people with a bunch of sports experience. Points to a good start for things.
I like 'em. I wonder at the #08 though. Usually, an unveiled jersey has the current year as its number, but that would have been 09 in this case. Did they pick 08 because of Lanny's retired number?
Similar to the flames one, but a couple of obvious difference. Very curious that they went with the BC Provincial flag on the shoulders.
I like the jersey but don't know if it was smart move from the marketing standpoint. Would you as a Flames fan cheer for a team wearing something awfully similar to the Canucks jersey or buy one?
