It didn't matter to me. Humans were secondary, they could talk about how they loved the Nazis and couldn't care. They did try to build it up, and some guys are committmentphobes and won't say those words.

The transformer got its shell from an Alice In Wonderland display, that's Alice (hence the name)

And what says he can't? Megatron's powerbase was obviously in being the chosen of The Fallen, but now the Fallen is dead and Megatron has failed twice. Starscream could probably seize power now.

They weren't Decepticons perse. They were just robots, but they don't know their exhaust from a hole in the ground. They're just attacking cause they can.

Only a Prime can stop the Fallen because only a Prime can open the Matrix. It was explained.
One sub in that vicinity. It's a net, they're not all side-by-side having a pool party.

He's first seen at the forest scene, and introduced when they surround the Autobots.

How often did you talk about the tsunami that hit south eastern Asia after it happened? It was a small isolated incident that there was no film of because the US Army was all over that place, also the Decepticons had knocked out communication at that point.
And if everyone is cleared out, how many people are gonna have cameras ready? It's not like TV crews had time to bust out and set up since they were all around the steel plant covering the leak.

Ah yes. The near death experience, how could I have left that gem out? My bad though, I was probably just adjusting from the sensory overload I was induced to from the camera being held by the firm hand of a four year old.

I can't go on much longer here but, good point about the dream thing, I guess at that point I was half asleep from boredom and sadness that Michael Bay took a crap all over this franchise. As to some of your other points..
One sub in the vicinity... hmmm... okay... well then why when they discuss the big-ass armada defending the location do they show the "pool party"?
Well, can't say it was really obvious they introduced Jolt, but I was probably too pumped that I saw one good scene to notice perhaps.
Woah, you can't seriously defend this point can you? The bots BLEW UP AN OVERPASS! At least one,, destroyed multiple roads- plus the what, 100's of cars destroyed, probably hundreds of deaths, the chase went across major bridges over rivers and lasted a couple minutes in one of the most populated cities on Earth??? Not to mention this is assuming that ALL of Transformers 1 was held secret which, let me remind you, ended in a downtown urban setting obliterating multiple buildings and killing again, hundreds. Plus- yes- I did read about the tsunami and I am and was vetted with, here's the kicker, the fact that it occurred.
An exit poll? Did you not hit up my link? 20% approval on rotten tomatoes and some of the comments by reviewers are just pure comedy gold!
So, just so we're clear, you HONESTLY think this is a good movie? This movie is to Transformers 1 what Spiderman 3 was to Spiderman 1 (and 2 for that matter I guess).

Yeah, I don't get the complain about NO STORY??
I paid attention for the whole movie. There was a story, it was decent, not excellent, but it was there and made sense.
For those unsure of the girl robot in Sam's School in the beginning, she was trying to get the info on the symbols. I forget what info. she was trying to get exactly, but it had to do with the symbols, location of the Matrix, or the sun destroyer thing?

And THEY GOT BUSTED!
Did you even watch the movie? In the first one it was passed off because there was no way to show what happened, no news feed, no nothing and the US Government would suppress their ability to report anything said.
In the second one THEY GOT BUSTED. Prime got reemed out by a Government official who said "You cocked this up, we don't want you here anymore."
Seriously, you're bashing this movie, and yet I begin to suspect you didn't pay attention to most of it.

Their opinion is irrelevant, Prime hit... etc etc.
Besides that, when over 60% of people asked say "I liked this film," which is a higher number than Star Trek by the way, I'm content. Reviewers don't like it but I don't care. It will continue to make money, and a third one will be made and it will also make money.

What about the first one was different from this? As a Transformers film, it's great. It appeases the fandom and appeals to the mass public to make money and ensure more. It's better than the Original cartoon by a country mile.
I loved it as a Transformer fan, and that's the only way I can watch this. Anything that didn't involve robots (and John Tuturro) was irrelevant to me.

hahaha ohhhhhhhhhhh they got BUSTED! Of course! That's why everyone is sworn to secrecy and why we're not allowed to talk about it and the internet guys are trying to crack this conspiracy. These aren't isolated incidents. These are cities getting cluster f'd because Michael Bay needs to scratch his destroy stuff itch. Which I'm okay with, but stop pretending these gigantic alien robots that blow up half the planet are secret, because that's stupid. I paid attention to the movie, it's just that it sucked.
I'm not going to argue over an LATimes exit poll, but I've already shown you reviews of people who thought it sucked and I took about 5 seconds to find it on google. Like I said, we'll see how the following weeks go. Word of mouth should cripple this one fairly well. Spider man 3 even had a couple fans too. Transformers 3 will be made and will make money, but nowhere near the amount this one made. Nowhere near. This one will have paved a tough path.
It was different from the first one for several reasons but i don't really feel like getting into right now and I"ve basically already bitched about them. Anyway, I'm glad that you liked it, I think that's good and I'm happy for you. I think it sucked, done and done.

Blaster do you honestly, truely believe the majority of people (60%) likes this movie? I'll bet it would be closer to 20%, and that's pushing it even.
No one here hoped the movie would suck, and perhaps the hype of two years and the recent good summer flicks (Batman, Ironman) had people expecting more.
Hopefully this forces them to re-think the strategy for the 3rd movie, cause another terrible movie will kill the franchise (Remember Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy!)

I dont think it was as terrible as people make it out to be. I didnt hear any bitching from people in the theater, and considering whats its grossing at the box office I dont see what all the whining is about. I sure as hell didnt expect an oscar winning performances out of that cast and crew.

I borrowed and watched the first Transformers last night to provide some context to this debate. Yeah, "exciting" action sequences, but holy lord what a bad movie. If the second one is even WORSE, well...

She was amazingly hot. She had to stay
I don't get what the hate is about with this movie. Big explosions, hot girls, and the main character saves the day. What else were you guys expecting? Did you want it to be as dark as The Dark Knight? It's hard to play deep into robots emotions... I think Michael Bay did the best job that could have been done. You guys talk about realism... okay.... they're giant robots with giant guns. Just enjoy the movie for what it is.

No, ofcourse I don't believe that. Obviously all the people who took that poll lied to the news paper... for... some... reason...?
Wait what?

Personally I liked the movie and I thought it was better then the first movie (was I expected this movie to have a great story line "NO"), and I would bet the 20% poll is a bunch of garbage....How many kids did the poll include I bet the answer is none.
As when I went there was a very high number of kids there... Of which they seemed to love the movie...
My kid and his friends want to go and watch it again.

This was just a terrible terrible movie that happened to have great CGI...but even the fight scene's were a cluster-F. I mean, most of the time, you couldn't tell who was who, and even when you could, you most likely didnt really know who was on which side.
oh man was this a bad movie. I file it under '160 minutes of my life I will never have back!'

I found out a couple things about the voice actors in the Transformers. Optimus Prime is voiced by Peter Cullen who is from Montreal. In fact, Cullen was the voice of Optimus Prime in the later stages of the 80's cartoon series. Mudflap is voiced by Reno Wilson who played Theo Huxtable's friend "Howard" on The Cosby Show.

Truth be told, I've never owned many toys, and for as big into the fandom as I am, I still only have four of the toys(Jazz, Blaster, Sunstreaker and Brawn).
And no, I don't play with them, they tend to sit on my shelf in their alt-mode.
