Default Going to Winnipeg for Canada Day

White Christian male in my 30's..... (sorry- just had to start the thread that way)

Anyway, I am going to Winnipeg next week and from the last time we had a thread on the subject there seemed to be a few others who make that trip. My plan at the moment is to leave Calgary at noon on Tuesday the 30th, and then come back leaving Winnipeg Sunday morning (the 5th.)

The car will be pretty full going out (I can't wait until they build an Ikea in Winnipeg), but empty coming back. Gas in my car will be around $120 each way.

So, any questions or comments (cause we all know there will be comments) let me know either by PM or here in the thread.

Was there a few summers ago visiting an uncle. Got bit by 4 wasps while talking with a neighbour on the driveway. Must be the bug capital of Canada.

OK, I am a little worried that you have "little mermaid" links queued up and ready to go.

I need a life I know. I do type fairly fast though. Furthermore as many can attest, I pretty much have a song for most phrases.

At least you will be going to Canada's best beach - Grand Beach! 3KM of white sand and freezing cold water!

Ken didn't say he was taking the Greyhound to Winnipeg.

Ok, I'll bite. What lake in Canada has warmer water?

The temperature in the middle of the lake is 18, and the water near the shore is always warmer.

We went last summer to Victoria Beach and the bugs were INSANE! I think it definitely is a contendor for bug capital of Canada. It's a shame because they do have really nice lakes!

I'm pretty sure that Osoyoos Lake is the warmest lake in Canada.

Grand Bend On Lake Huron down to Ipperwash is pretty warm. And Lake Erie isn't that cold because it is the shallowest of the Great Lakes.
