I don't know how some of you guys can play golf by yourself. a HUGE part of the fun for me is trash talking my friends and just have a relaxing game with my buddies. But I guess I'm not much to do anything alone. I have security issues

My wife has this strange idea that I should come home after work... you know... sit down, have dinner together, talk.
She doesn't have a problem with me going golfing on either a Saturday or a Sunday but not both... particularly if its done on a regular basis.

For some strange reason, she actually likes it when I'm home.... go figure.

I could probably do more golfing if I took my wife golfing with me... but I can only handle so much of my wife's golfing.

I prefer to play with others. Sometimes when i show up there's noone going out and my only option is to play by myself. That's the beauty and downside of playing a small town golf course

I hate playing a game by myself... I find it real boring. Although I do go on as a single once in a while... but I ask to be put with someone else.

Even a stranger's company is better than being stuck with just myself to talk to...

I suppose but for me, I don't love Golf enough to play by myself. If I make a birdie putt or a hole in one, I need some proof of this and thus my friends.

I'm just drove down to BC and I'm about to play some golf! The greens are nicer here as they actually get rain.

You need to get your wife into some kind of a hobby. Sounds to me like she jealous of the fact you can go and hit that white dimpled ball all over the place and have fun.

Nahhh..... she just misses me when I'm not home....

P.S. During the winter (Sept to April) we ten pin bowl together in a league, once a week. She really enjoys that.

Trust me, i loathe playing by myself. That said i'm not going to go back home if i have no one to play with. Thankfully it doesn't happen that often.

Completely and full heatedly agree. So much in fact I also thanked you.

I heard a rumor that golf courses once a year have these massive blow outs on golf clubs. I really want a driver but it's a little expensive. I went to golf town the other day, tried out the Ping rapture... I hit consistently 20 yards farther than any other driver I tried. Remarkable. I'm going to start giving Tiger Woods a run for his money.

Oh yeah... I'm here for a week, does anyone know good courses in the BC area specifically the chiliwack to vancouver area? I want to play one course a day and I only have 2 lined up so far. This is surrounding area right?

Golf Town has a yearly demo event in October. Bought a 1-3-5 Cleveland Hibore driver and fairway woods for less than half the original price.

My course in Nanton has a silent auction for thier demo clubs at the end of the season. A few years back I got a Ping Rapture hybrid for $90. Best part it was never used.

I find trying to organize people to golf is a pita. People know I have a membership and I tell anyone if they want to play to let me know, but I hate trying to organize stuff with people. If i waited around for other people, I'd probably never get out. Once you start going out as a single, you get comfortable with it after a few times. I can golf with or without people. either way is good.

The whole reason I started golfing was, I was in a beer league mixed baseball team. Super fun, had lots of good times, but after awhile less and less people were showing up, until we were forfeiting games, and finally merged with another half team, who had some real pricks on it. The next year, we didn't have a team. I decided I needed something to do, that I didn't need to depend on others. Golf, the perfect solution. Sure, I'd like to have a few good friends that were into it as much as me, and had lots of time, but that just isn't working out. Also a lot of people I know who do golf prefer really easy courses, and I hate those courses.

Someone outbid me for a Ping Rapture driver and the hybrid was my second choice. I bid $180 for that driver and someone outbid me by $5 to get it. I was not very happy about that

Has anyone played Boulder Creek recently? I want to try it out but I've had conflicting reports on it's condition and the overall enjoyment of golfing there.

Played it last week. The fairways are occasionally in so-so shape but the greens are in good shape and all-in-all it wasn't a bad course. The cart paths aren't paved so if it's raining you might get a bit dirty; that was my only real complaint as I had to tiptoe through a few mud holes. I had a good game.
