I think this may have been the first time he performed the moonwalk.... not 100% sure about that.

Fantastic performer

Dude, I'm more on your side than most of the rest of the people in this thread but seriously posts like this are only going to start a flame war.

I Like Mike but Elvis did this 2-4 years before Michael Jackson was even Born.... If not for Elvis , Michael wouldnt have been able to do what he did. Elvis being a white person, singing what was considered black music opened the doors for black musicians to become more mainstream.

So because he was going to go on tour like a tribute to his old self, he was relevant? Sorry, but if he'd died in a car crash or something back in the late 80's, he'd be an icon and we'd wonder what he might have done if he hadn't died. Unfortunately for his legacy, instead of that we got to watch the reality of him turning into a caricature of a person who would do nothing important or interesting the rest of his life.

Just because he was going to go on tour doesn't mean jack. That's all about nostalgia, not art. Those people buying tickets might have paid to see Michael Jackson, but what they would have really seen was his feeble remnant, Michael Ghost-Face Plastic Surgery Disaster.

Wow...did he somehow offend you, or attack you?

We get it...you're happy about a man you never personally knew, is dead.

Quit petty.

Regret is an intelligent and emotional dislike for personal past acts and behaviors.

So you can't possibly be feeling regret in this case.

Couldn't agree more. I will never forget when they announced his death on when I was 5 years old and my dad punched the the radio in his ford truck so hard he broke it and started crying. Elvis was an entertainer that appealed to the masses. Men wanted to be him, and women wanted to be with him, regardless of his weight, or era. If you ever have watched his Vegas specials it just explains itself. He was larger than life, no pun intended.

Michael is too polarizing. And really creepy. Either you hate him or love him. Either way comparing MJ to Elvis is like comparing a hamburger to a steak. Elvis was the true King and there hasn't been an artist since or currently that is even close to what he represented. Please don't insult the real King by comparing him to that weirdo.

/end rant

When it comes to kiddie didlers, I have strong opinions.
Its just so wrong on so many levels. Once a child molester, always a child molester. Society should be protected from them... not embrace and admire them... even if you are a great musician. To me, the child molestation part just completely drowns and overwhelms anything else in your life that in anybody else would be admired.

Be a great musician and cheat on your wife... I don't care
Be a great musician and beat your wife.... I don't care ... I will still admire you as a musician
Be a great musician and molest an innocent child just to fulfill your own sick needs... to hell with you... You deserve to die right then and there.

My feeling is that he's more guilty of pederasty than paedophelia.

I'm sure black musicians were thankful for Elvis doing the same music as they did, but being much more successful at it because he was white. Not that I'm arguing with your analysis, but it's a pretty sad commentary on racial prejudice that this is true.

I agree with this.

What are the most memorable things he's done in the past decade?

He waved a baby out of a window and went on a shopping spree at some tacky luxury shop in Vegas where he took one of everything with the eggs on top.
