His alleged shortcomings will definitely be how many remember him. Others will mainly remember his music.

No one (noone?) is saying he wasn't a weirdo but there is a reason his albums are among the top selling albums of all time. He was a great artist. RIP

I am aware of that....but the two cases are not comparable IMO...and believe me i am the last person in the world to defend anyone that has anything to do with harming children.

People can think and believe ehat they want, but the fact remains he was tried twice very very aggressively on molestation charges and was acquitted on all of them.

If he did it....he is a monster, no question. I just have no way of knowing for sure....unlike OJ.

At any rate, here is just one list of accomplishments.

Exactly. He may have done some horrible things (which none of us knows for sure). He may have been the dictionary definition of wierd. But, he definitely made some of the best pop music ever made. He was an icon for sure.

As a football player, he will always be spoken as an elite player.

As a person, he will always be considered a monster.

Can I seperate the two? Sure, don't see why not.

I think they're relatively comparable...both high profile celebs with millions (?) of dollars to spend on defense lawyers, both charged with horrible acts, both acquitted despite a large portion of the population thinking both were guilty.

And to be honest, I could care less about his accomplishments. He surely was an icon...but if the allegations were true, he deserves no respect IMO.

...and actor.

Michael Jackson was definitely weird... but musically and entertainment wise, he was second to none. OJ Simpson could definitely run the ball but was a criminal and possibly a sociopath.

I think it's separable because we're not judging either of them from an overall standpoint... just memories of Jackson.

I agree with this. Jackson will go down as one of the best artists of all time.

As a person, I think he was a complete creepo and think it's disgusting in terms of his actions toward children.

I do consider it a tragic event and hope he rests in peace.
