I'm really interested in the battle for the cup mode. I play a lot of tournaments on my console, so hopefully they have re-implemented NHL Playoffs as a game mode. I don't like the EA World tournament lacking some NHL rules, such as where the goalie can play the puck and that the clock counts up.

Agreed...I used to always play friends head to head in best of 7 series when playoff modes were available. I never knew why they took it out, sometimes you just want to jump into a best of 7 series without dynasty and season and all that. Sounds like this could be the return of playoffs only mode, and I like that they track the storyline of whats happening in the series, that would be great for the presentational aspect of the game.

monthly seasons for the eashl sounds very interesting. It seems as if they had hopes for that in this years version but it didn't work out. I realize they are having a tournament now ... but with only a handful of teams where's the fun in that? I guess it's an awesome feature for 50 guys. It would be pretty sweet if you could break off into a set of 30 teams and have a 10-15 game season followed by a playoff. That would keep me playing for sure.

Besides the cover which I think looks terrible, I have high hopes for this game.
I had high hopes for '09 and there is still a lot of stupid annoying crap in it.
Come on EA, no more glitch goals, stupid penalties (cross checking, charging, holding, tripping when your bringing your stick in), no ######ed goalies, no replays.
The tournament thing sounds really cool. CP should enter a team and whoop.

I try not to complain about the faults in the NHL series, I've been playing other sports games recently and man the game play just doesn't compare. Every other sports game I feel so constrained compared to the freedom of the controls in NHL 09. It is the best sports game I've ever played, by far.

NHL 10..with new fighting/hugging control scheme, use the analog sticks to wrap your hands around your opponent.

They did make changes to BAP, you have to play in a prospects tournie, and it seems that there will actually be a draft for your character. Im excited, Jobo, when does the game come out?
