Father's Day is rather bitter sweet for me. Sweet because of our son and daughter. Bitter because of the twin sons we lost at birth. I spent this year in the shadow of the rather remote hill where we scattered our twins' ashes about 20 years ago and got somewhat inebriated. Kind of a different Father's Day for me this year.

No one can begin to understand the hurt you must feel. The thought of losing a child is unimaginable to me. Something I would never want to have happen.
My thoughts are with you. A very sad day indeed.

Incredibly sad, Ford.

The one sad thing I think about on Father's Day was the death of my Grandfather. He had a heart attack that morning. My uncle found him when he went over to pick him up for Father's Day brunch. We got the call at my parent's house where I was visiting for Father's Day. I've never seen my Dad that emotional (and it was my Mom's father that died). I doubt I'll ever meet a nicer man than him.

This was the first Father's Day without my father. He passed away in January at the age of 60 from small cell lung cancer (was not a smoker). So to say the least, it was a tough day.
