Course Record on Bethpage Black is 64... If Weir pars the rest he ties it.

I think your stream went off cause they switched to NBC.

They just said the record for any round in any major is 63.

Yes you are right. Had to hunt a bit for a new stream but I'm back doing nothing at work but watch golf again.

Wooohooo good.

Who's this Duval guy!? 67 today.

That would be a really good story on the weekend if he could keep it up.

And a double bogey for Weir on the sixth, to go back to -4.

Yeah

Announcers should STFU about records and 62... so annoying.

That par putt was way too bold. Now he needs to get it back together. It's all NBC's fault. When it was on ESPN the picture was way better and less yak, less commercials and Weir was playing lights out. Stinkin NBC.

Athough he just knocked it into birdie range. And Presto. And a putt for 64.

Wow what a comeback after that double bogey. Fabulous round of golf anytime and doubly so at a major.

Great round for Weir.
And it should be a big help to him that he'll start his second round today as well.
His approach shots were just insane, could have kicked in half of his birdies.

The most shocking thing for me is that in the second round Canadian amateur Taylor is currently 5 under with 4 to play. Overall at -2 and tied for 6th. His story is lost because of how well Wier is doing.

Ames is also having a good second round and has brought it back to even. 3 Canadians in the hunt is awesome.

there are some pretty good story lines developing for the final two rounds...

Ricky Barnes, Mike Weir, David Duval, Phil Mickelson, Nick Taylor, Steven Ames, Sergio Garcia and even Tiger Woods despite being quite a few back.

Tiger's 11 back, that's not a good story line.

What do the announcers talking on TV have anything to do with what Weir does on the course?

Looks like they may even have trouble finishing the 3rd round today as it appears there is some more rain heading towards LI.

With the super soft conditions we may see something like 10 or 11 under win this thing...which is a shame as it really should be the toughest test of the year on this continent.
