Fuel 90.3 > X92.9.

Mainly because of the loveline crap at night. I listen to the radio for music -- not stupid teenage girls talking about their periods.

x2

My last job was 3pm to 12pm and they always keep 92.9 on. Not only is Loveline crap, but they play the same music every single day, including the older music. Do I have to hear Jump Around every day? And what radio station plays Nirvana and a live acoustic version of Metric in the same half hour? I know it's their exclusive, but it bugged me to death.

Please no, no more stupid songs about dancing in the club and nickelback, etc. Argh, I HATE TOP 40. Why do human beings suck so much that the top 40 hit songs are always the worst songs?

In other news, I've been listening to Rock 107 quite a bit lately. I'm not always in the mood for classic rock, I'd love a bit of electronica or retro alternative or even techno or jazz (yeah right, like we'd ever hear anything like that on Calgary radio stations) but Rock 107 makes you feel better sometimes because all the music usually has some pedigree and sometimes it's rarer old stuff.

I called them, they're switching to 'the station that plays all the hits' at 6pm tomorrow.

At least we get an entire 2 days of great music with no commercials...I'm enjoying it.

I can only assume what they mean by "the hits".

Yet another station that plays Nickelback.

I may have to sit with pen and paper, and list out the songs I should have on my iPod.

Not to pick on you specifically, since many people hold this opinion, but I've never understood this elitist attitude. Top 40 is top 40 for a reason. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that someone else is wrong for having a different opinion of a song/band/genre.

damn, i really enjoyed 90.3. I guess radio just isn't satiated until it I abandon it forever. x929 is the last station standing that I enjoy.

I don't understand why they are switching to "The Hits". First they were one of three stations that played new rock (CJAY & X929) and now it seems they will be one of three stations playing "the hits" (VIBE & Energy) so what's the point? Maybe Top 40 is a larger total market than rock.

The worst part about this is that the wicked sign donning the chick with the enormous rack at 14th and 11th will come down. Booo!

I've probably listened to a grand total of 4 mins of FM radio in the past 2 years, still sucks to see some competition of CJAY switching formats.

Every time CJAY sends someone to a concert or movie premiere, I have to curse them out and tell them to get off the stage, can't stand that station.

The station has been on the air for at least 2 years now and has consistantly been in last place. In the last rating period it had a 1% piece of the pie. That's not good enough to drive sales. Who knows if that will change, but there's nowhere to go but up.

For the record I also enjoyed Fuel, but the writing has been on the wall for quite some time.

Anyone have a link to the last ratings handy?

And by the sounds of it, every single listener Fuel has is a CP member, lol.
