Congrats to the NHL Award Winners
Atlanta would like to congratulate the winners of the NHL award winners.
Atlanta's own Pavel Datsyuk won the Selke Trophy for the 2nd year in a row for being the best defensive forward and won the Lady Byng Trophy yet again for his gentlemanly play. Datsyuk also finished in 2nd in the Hart and Pearson vote for League MVP.
Congrats to the other winners which include:
- Pittsburgh's Alexander Ovechkin on winning the Hart and Pearson trophies for the 2nd year in a row as league MVP! Big props.
- San Jose's Tim Thomas for winning the Vezina Trophy for top goaltender.
- Columbus' Zdeno Chara on winning the Norris Trophy for top defenseman.
- Anaheim's Steve Mason for winning the Calder Trophy for rookie of the year.
- Montreal's Claude Julien for winning the Jack Adams Trophy as the top coach.
- Toronto's Steve Sullivan for winning the Masterton Trophy for perserverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.
- Anaheim's Ethan Moreau on winning the King Clancy Trophy for on and off the ice leadership and community involvement.
- Carolina's Jarome Iginla for winning the Mark Messier leadership award for his leadership qualities.
- Montreal's Rick Nash fo winning the NHL Foundation award for commitment, perserverance, and teamwork within the community.
- Philadelphia's Roberto Luongo on winning the Scotiabank Fan Fav Award.
- Also congrats to previously known winners: Pittsburgh's Ovechkin on winning the Rocket Richard trophy for most goals, LA's Malkin on winning the Art Ross for most points, and to LA's Malkin for winning the Conn Smythe Trophy for playoff MVP.
