Hahaha....after a bad shot from the NZ Captain:

"Hes never scored for his country the NZ Captain, maybe terrible shots like that are the reason why..."

Lol, John Helm is the best!!

I hate Team USA as much or more than most, but that was a harsh Red Card. Maybe a Yellow, maybe, but Red? No way. The Americans would have a right to feel hard done by with that call.

Needless to say they're already down by 2, so its really got minimal impact.

Wow....what a goal by Maicon....3-0.

Wow...have I mentioned how awesome John Helm is?

"This is exhibition stuff..."
"I cant remember the last time an American touched the ball....oh Maicon's cross....too far....well, at least the American Goalkeeper will get a touch of the ball...too bad goal kicks dont count as a save."

Brazil absolutely dominated the US. Even before the red card it wasn't even close. The US barely touched the ball in the second half. Brazil owned them in every facet of the game, I think late in the first half the shots on goal favoured Brazil 8-1. Beautiful goals by Robinho and Maicon show that perhaps Brazil's new counterattacking style can style produce highlight reel goals.

They are always alot more yellow and red cards in FIFA tournaments.
Last World Cup there were 28 red cards and 345 yellow cards in just 64 matches. There are usually more penalty shots too. The FIFA refs crack down on everything!

Personally I never liked the referrring standard in World Cups. Refs are too strict and they get conned all the time by players diving.

Yeah, Brazil really owned them, they made the US bend over and take it and there was nothing the Americans could do about it. Pretty disappointing based on the comments made before the game by the Americans.

Wow, 1-0 Egypt of Italy. I wanted to use 4x4's Italian reference term but I figure all the greasers out there would get all offended....

Italy's played alright.. Rossi is dangerous and created some chances but the team is too old and too slow.
Egypt is very well organized.

Old and slow is right, the commentator were mentioning that Italy is the oldest team by average age at the tournament.

Italy hasnt had a shot from within 20 yards of the goal, its all long range stuff that hasnt really troubled the Egyptian keeper.

Edit: Lookout now! Luca Toni is coming on!! For.....Rossi? The best player of the game thus far? Smooth move....

Locke what term is that? If you meant wop don't worry I don't find it offensive.

If any fellow Italians find it offensive I apologize but unless it is used in a really personal/hateful context I don't care. Me and my cousins call each other wops all the time.

Toni brings height... Italians want to get in the box more instead of long-range shots like you mentioned.

And a crossbar. and as I type that another chance.

This is getting frustrating. We need some sympathetic reffing like in the 06 WC match against Australia.
