His first animal bit was pretty good, but I only tuned in for that last night--preferring Ferguson for the first bit

I'm liking the show after a couple weeks. The Roots are an amazing house band and Jimmy is pretty relaxed and funny host.

There is so much awkward silence still... it's aggravating watching it.

Norm MacDonald didn't need a partner.

Little to no charisma. Interviews are generally awkward. Not the right fit (for me).

I hadn't watched Jimmy Fallon until Conan started up again this week. Jimmy is... okay. Better than I was expecting. But he still seems really awkward or nervous or something. It's a bit uncomfortable to watch.

I would put Dennis Miller, Chevy Chase and Norm Macdonald way above that dou. Tina Fey was good, Jimmy Fallon, not so much.

And even despite that - I never actually liked Dennis Miller, Chevy Chase, Norm MacDonald, or that lady with the big hair in the 80s doing weekend update. Maybe I just had a crush on Tina Fey or something back in 1999 because some girl in highschool had glasses and hair like her.

Oh don't get me wrong, Tina Fey is the perfect woman for me, she's smart, she's funny and she's got the whole naughty teacher thing going, and she was the best part of weekend update when she was on it.
But the old old weekend updates with Chevy and Dan were the best ones ever done.

I'm too young to actually have seen those live so the jokes probably fell flat on me because they were 10 years too late on reruns to be topical to me.

so after all the references about Conan being awkward and unwatchable in his first few years, i downloaded his first episode of Late Night ever to see how he compared to Fallon. while Conan was visibly nervous and tripping over his lines a bit, you could tell even back then that he was a funny guy and if he could find a way to bring it out, he'd have a great show (which he did). Fallon on the other hand is just not funny. in the few bits that i've watched of his show, he just comes across as trying way too hard and he's forcing the laughter, he has none of the natural comedy or quick wit that Conan does and it's just painful to watch him on TV
my guess is that Fallon doesn't last longer than a couple of seasons before he's turfed

Apparently Fallon has Sean Avery on tonight (according to Shaw). I guess I'll be flipping from Craig to see what he has to say.

He was talking smack about the Flyers (Lupul and Hartnell). He called Hartnell a clown and said he punched him when he meant to punch Lupul(on a bus).

I was going to watch, but saw the names Spence and Heidi and I immediately turned the channel.

I know its the cool thing to bash Avery but this is exactly what the NHL needs more of. Having more NHL "stars" (I'd use that term loosely with Avery) in the public eye is always a good thing and that little shoot out thing was pretty fun to watch. Would have loved to see Avery wear that Flyer's jersey though.

I wish I knew why you did that before I watched it.

I absolutely disagree. It's only something you need if you want a sport full of egotistic jackasses that mirror the NBA. Maybe it's just me, but I watch the NHL because I like the sport, not because i want the NHL to be some celebrity wank-off.
