Default Blog removed from HEAT site

Hi folks..Abbotsford HEAT took down their blog, because of too much controversy, and we fans had nowhere to post their contrary thoughts. <snip> We don't really want links to other forums. I'd suggest fans of the Heat use this forum. MOD<snip>

What is this controversy you speak of? I'm just curious.

Really seems weird having a section for the Calgary Flames and the Vancouver Canucks, Abbotsford has got to find it's loyalty and severe all ties with the Canucks!

For the forums, they got 3 members...I'd suggest just linking to http://forum.calgarypuck.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32

there was a blog on the official Heat website that (apparently) anyone could post to, and several posts were ripping the team name and how the name was choosen. At first it wasn't clear that random fans were posting, so it had the appearance of being an official thought/opinion/blog associated with the team

I think is a pretty good idea.

As much as a corporation wants to involve its fan base in it's online image, having a Blog on your official site that can be hi-jacked like that is just bad for the image. (And to be frank this was a bit of a disaster)

It's odd that they would allow open posting on an official site like that without some sort of control. To be frank, it's actual the opposite of what most companies would intuitively do with a corporate blog. When you see corporate blogs, they typically insinuate that posts on there are corporate official comments from the media director. Having a blog that streams Fan posts without control is kind of odd because it made it seem like fan opinion (in this case outrage) was the official word from the Abbotsford Management team.
