Sounds like a pretty good price to me... especially when you consider you get a cart.
You are correct... essentially 2 for 1. $60 is an incredible price especially considering it is for Glen Eagles.

Just signed up for the free tee-time offer at Glen Eagles.

Edit: Just got my offer by e-mail and I have now booked a tee-time at 3:42 pm Sunday May 10

Never played the course but I'm looking forward to it.

By the way... only 1/2 the cart is paid for so it looks like the total cost per person will be $54.76 + GST for green fees plus $8.50 + GST per person for the other half of the cart cost. Total should be (if my math is correct) $63.26 + GST per person.

I think I'll dust off the clubs tonight when I get home and then head out to the range for some practice.

My first tee-time that I have booked for the season is May 2 with the Maple Ridge Mens Golf Club. I joined last year and its a great deal. Costs you $70 for your yearly membership. For that you are pretty well guaranteed a tee time every 2nd Saturday throughout the summer at Maple Ridge Golf Club. The Maple Ridge Mens Club has a block booking there for 2.5 hours every 2nd Saturday morning. The course is nice and you sure can't beat the price at $43 for 18 holes.

In hind sight it does sound like a good deal. I stand corrected.

Glen Eagles eats me alive every time I go there. I've played it a number of times and hate it! I'm not one for the houses on the course...but to each their own.

(Nice course and all, just not kind to my game at all).

Thats sounds pretty good. Are they still accepting members for this? Saturday morning is my favorite time to play and the hardest time to get out.

The club has about 100 members. Every year a few people don't renew their memberships and thus spots open up for new members.

Here's the club website... http://www.members.shaw.ca/mrmc/home.html

Open up the web page and on the left you will see a heading "About the club / How to join". Click on that and you will find directions on who to contact to apply for membership.

Default Heatherglen is now open

According to the Calgary Herald...

Quote:
HeatherGlen is open. Has been since Good Friday.
That's been pretty much expected in this neighbourhood for the past few years and, if everything else holds true, that means we can expect quite a few more courses to open this week.
At least those without heavy tree cover. Airdrie Woodside, for instance, is shooting for Tuesday and we hear that McCall Lake and Fox Hollow are likely to go as well.

I drive by it all the time, and I know they are links-style, but something about that course just doesn't sit right by me. Anyone played it?

I may have an opening at Sirocco on Saturday at 5:54.

So far I have myself and a buddy confirmed. Waiting on a repy from a third.

It's $55.00 including cart. Let me know if there is any interest

Thats a real good price. Unfortunately, I already have an 8:45 am tee off time booked at Maple Ridge (Maple Ridge Mens Golf Club event).

If any of you CP'ers end up in the South Okanagan of BC this summer and are looking for a guy to complete your group, let me know. If you can stand the heat there are some pretty good deals to be had after about 2:00 at most courses. Courses down here are all in really nice shape right now we've had a nice stretch of weather here for about three weeks now.

I'd play, but I just started up again this year after about a 5 year break from golf and I'm bloody terrible. Like slapshot golf terrible, like only two clubs in my bag work terrible.
