Default Abortion Truck

I didn't get a chance to post anything about this at work because it was crazy busy. Has anyone else seen the truck driving around with the massive posters of aborted fetuses on the side of it?

I was driving in to work this morning listening to the radio and I look over to my right and there is a massive 6'x8' poster of a bloody fetus in someones hand.

WTF?

I really really did not need to see that at 7AM.

Anyone else had any sightings of this monstrosity or was I the only one privileged enough. It was traveling south on 14st at about 7AM.

They were equally offended by your truckballs flapping in the wind.

That would suck to see at 7am. And terrible tags dude, that's just, ok, it's funny, I'm laughing as I type this, but still, that's jacked up.

Exactly what I was talking about in the Tiller thread. Here, these folks have similar pamphlets that they routinely hand out to children "to give to their mothers". We have a similar truck driving around town here as well.

Calgary's got a truck driving around offering up abortions? Alberta is far less conservative then people think!

Extremists on either side, of any issue, really confuse me. They don't get anywhere with their ridiculous campaigns.

Exactly. I'm not a fan of abortions, but this goes WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too far. Off the scale too far.

Not that I disagree with you at all (I had the misfortune of meeting a protestor carrying the same picture at 6am a couple of months ago), but I wonder about your being offended with tags that read "coat hanger" and "vacuum"

Unfortunately, I've seen that truck a ton.

Does this mean I can put whatever I want on the side of a truck and call it "freedom of speech"?

I'm sure I could come up with a completely inappropriate Asian Gang picture and slogan.

those tags are too funny, good to see a sense of humor here :-)

Try driving around with a picture of a dead dog on the side of a van/truck, and watch how fast it gets removed. It just amazes me how far we let these friggin nutballs push things....

Saw it on 14th on Sunday, had some kind of security ghost car behind it too. Couldn't tell if it was the cops or private security. Reasonable to expect some kind of trouble.

Anyone can add tags not just the starter of the thread.

Years ago when I used to drive to SAIT, I remember all these picketers outside of the 'special clinic' on the way (cant remember the address), they used to literally stop traffic parading across the streets with their nice little signs.
I dont know what would be more traumatizing, having to go to the clinic, or running the gauntlet to get into the clinic......

When I was in grade 3, we went on a field trip to Parliament Hill. There was an anti-abortion protest and we got to see some pretty fracked up posters and pamphlets.

Really, the only thing this did to me was introduce me to abortion WAAAYY to early in my life. Years later I can still remember it and those ###### nozzles are an influence on my socially liberal views. It was very wrong what they did to us.

People like that tend to cloud up the issue for reasonable minded folks.

I move to abort them from the planet.

I had no idea! I thought it was just the thread starter. Well now I'm pretty much going to have to sabotage tags in threads I don't like. (Mods I'm just kidding, the rest of you I'm totally serious and you better watch out)

I don't see what is wrong with it. No real difference then a PETA truck with a slaughter house in it. I see it downtown regularly and see it as a much more reasonalbe form of protest then say picketing a clinic. Also I enjoy Calgary's approach to free speech. Athiest signs on busses a ok, religious signs on buses a ok, abortion trucks driving the streets a ok.

YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO NOT BE OFFENDED IN FACT IT IS MY RIGHT TO OFFEND YOU WITH MY SPEECH.

I wish people would accept free speech for how important it is and it always seems that the special interest groups who benefit most from it always forget about it when the opposing special interest group exercises their rights.
