do you get the games shown on other channels for hockey? They black them out here.

I've got the Super Sports pack so I don't miss any game, in any sprt that I want to watch, but I would be pissed if I lived out there still and couldn't watch the Jays. Been a Jays fan for as long as I can remember.

Since I had MLB extra innings online last year I learnt that all of Canada is the Jays "area", not just like BC for the Canucks as their home area, my internet feed would get blocked out if anyone was showing the Jays game on TV. So my internet feed would be blocked if Sportsnet was showing the game on Pacfic because I could in theory get the game from them.

Soooo... when they don't show Jays games they show the Yankees or Red Sox. That's ok sometimes....

So tonight when the Yankees and Red Sox play each other (a game I wouldn't mind seeing - Burnett against Beckett), they show the RAYS!

Who's the numnut making decisions at sportsnet?

With their first pick in the 2009 first year player's draft, the Toronto Jays select: Chad Jenkins from Kennesaw state. he's a big power slider, power sinker pitcher. He wasn't the ace of the team but quickly surpassed the ace at KState and wound up being selected in the first round.http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/draft/...ntent=cjenkins

For our supplemental first rounder, the Jays selected the highest ranked Canadian player: James Paxton. He's a big lefty that pitched for the university of kentucky. He was high on scouts' boards because he has a fast ball that has been clocked at 98. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/draft/...content=paxton

Anyone know much about this guy? I know baseball's a crapshoot, but if there's one thing I can commend JP and his staff on is his working of finding usable pitchers.

Both are supposed to be solid picks.

Paxton (the Canadian) is a Scott Boras guy and his main issue was signability. He's definitely a mid-first round talent that dropped to his high signing bonus.

Definitely a good sign to see the Jays go after these types of guys after diminishing so many 1st rounders by actually abiding by the MLB's recommended signing bonus (for each draft position). It's a riskier strategy, but the only way small and middle market teams can consistently compete is to build from with-in and have a high number of players in their first 3 years (pre salary arbitration).

It seems every Jays game I watch and they win it's Lind and Hill and Hill and Lind. Is there a stat showing how often then win when these two are hitting? It sure seems like they roll when these two roll.

Great start to the road trip against a team of bashers without our ace pitching.

No it sure don't but it seems even in the 10-7 or whatever score games that it's been Lind and Hill with the offense then as well.

Don't discount Scutaro and some of those other bottom guys in the order. Seems like the Rolen/Overbay/Barajas whoever else is in there have been on base than a guy like Scutaro is able to get on. Hill comes up gets a hit. Rios and Wells hit infield fly's and than Lind comes up with a hit. Lind and Hill have the gaudy numers, but the team has got more out of Scutaro than I think they ever could have imagined thus far.

Really the infielders on the Jays are all having decent starts to the season except for Rolen in the power department. But so long as he's getting on base, and playing top notch defence the Jays can get by without him putting up big power numbers.
