[OILFAN #81]

Rumors out of Atlanta are that the club is in talks to try and acquire a 1st line forward as early as today.

Additionally, UFA rights to players are available in Atlanta:

Niko Kapanen

Hal Gill - TRADED

Also:
Jay Pandolfo - 73 ov - 1 year @ 4 M - TRADED
Roman Hamrlik - 78 ov - 1 year @ 8 M - TRADED

These players are all available.

Pavel Datsyuk, Lubomir Visnovsky and Jan Hejda are all expected to be re-signed by the Thrashers. A Datsyuk deal is imminent while Visnovsky and Hejda are still at the bargaining table.

Atlanta has seemed to reach deals with Robert Nilsson and Kyle Brodziak who have become RFA's.

Backup goaltender Dan Ellis will begin talks this week on a new deal.

Atlanta made the deal they promised.......they acquired a 1st line star in Marian Hossa.

Atlanta is shopping the UFA rights to players in the 73-76 range.

Additionally, some other players such as Jay Pandolfo and Roman Hamrlik are on the block. We are looking to shop one of our d for a forward. Inquire within.

Even deal with Hossa. SJ still gets a top 6 forward and a prospect whos stock has gone through the roof. Atlants get the superstar.

Atlanta traded the UFA rights of Hecht and Gill.

Pandolfo has now been traded to Dallas for the 65th overall pick in the draft (1st pick in round 3).

Hamrlik was dealt to TB along with Regin for Russell.

We then picked up Frans Nielsen for a 2nd(which we got in the Hal Gill trade), Gregoire and Sutherby.

Pandolfo, Hamrlik, Hecht, and Gill were the 4 guys we were looking to move in the offseason and we are pleased to have got them dealt.
