If it is indeed Playfair.....he has some serious allegiance going with the Flames.

AHL coach, NHL assistant coach, NHL head coach, NHL assistant coach, AHL coach.

Crazy.

Associate coach is just a fancy term for assistant coach. It just sounds more important.

Its a fancy term for an assistant being paid like a head coach.

A friend of mine was recently working in Fort St James and the talk in town was that Jim Playfair was leaving coaching and free-lancing as a motivational speaker. Apparently he has done a little motivational speaking in the past and is quite good.

I think my friend came back shortly before Sutter announced the possibility of Jim coaching the heat. Hopefully the offer changed Playfair's mind.

Yes, or let's hope 0°≤ Jim Playfair ≤ 180° (Θ = 0)!

Duane Sutter as GM down there, wonder how he nailed that job? How soon before the Flames organization employs all Sutter brothers at some level or another?

He was already Director of Player Personnel for the Flames. His being named GM of the Heat might be a step to help Darryl if he needs to coach.

I'm sure it will be a Canadian born person. I mean, with the Flames telling the US born people that worked in Quad City that it would impossible to get them work visas, I'd just assume.

Clearly it is. That being said I could have thought of that slogan and or phrase. Apparently I missed my calling and should have gone into advertising.
