Does that mean that they are honouring the fat finger discount or are they going to retract faster than me jumping into a cold shower?

As far as I know everything is all good, and reports from people who have talked to Travelocity/Orbitz suggest that SpanAir will be honoring the bookings.

So, what's the plan? What another week or so for the dust to settle? It's probably safe to say that actual tickets have been issued -- the only remaining question is whether SpanAir will honor them.

Wow, if that's true, I wonder if it's SpanAir that takes all of the responsibility due to the error, or if Orbitz and/or Travelocity assumes any liability for publishing what is obviously an incorrect fare.
I would have thought that I would have been shut down right away -- someone must have been sleeping at the switch once the "error" was discovered...

That's the part that gets me. This price was available for nearly 24 hours. You would have thought that it would have been discovered within the first couple of hours. That type of error should be escalated in management really quickly, and someone should have screamed to pull the "sale".

Thing i don't get is even after they noticed their error and changed the pricing they didn't boost it to 855+ taxes or whatever, I saw it jump from 96 to 109 then to 593 then up from there. If it was a error you'd have thought they;d have fixed it right the first time.

Does anyone have the charges showing up on their credit cards yet? (if you have access to your balance online, that is)
I paid with a Visa on Thursday evening. I wasn't expecting the charges to be showing by Friday morning, but I was hopeful it would show up this morning. If it's not there by tomorrow it might be time to call Travelocity I guess.

I just took a look at mine online, and the charges have been processed. 3 return flights to Spain for $405 It still makes me laugh.
This is on a MasterCard, and two of them were through Orbitz, the third one was through Travelocity.
I've heard reports from others that their credit cards have processed, but it seems to be from people that used MC. From the Visa people, I have heard reports of ones that are not showing up as processed yet. There's a guy named Kyle on the FaceBook group who booked through Visa/Travelocity and he hasn't seen the charges yet.

My friend bought his with a Visa card and he's had no problems. He even called up Visa to confirm that payment was processed and he was charged directly from Spanair, not travelocity. I wonder if there might have been a difference between those who used the .ca address versus the .com address. Or maybe they're simply using the Visa thing as a way to cover themselves after they realized the mistake they made. FTR, my friend made the purchase on the evening of the 28th, before the pricing error was discovered.

From someone who actually called SpanAir directly...

FYI I spoke with Travelocity and they confirmed the booking. I then called Spanair directly and they also confirmed everything. Looks positive.

I know, I keep laughing about it too! Although everyone I tell thinks I'm completely insane for even considering it with an 8-week old baby. I try to emphasize the fact that it was $200 return for 2 people, but it doesn't help much.
I booked through travelocity.com and used a US $$ Visa, so I'm just sitting tight. Sounds like mostly positive feedback so far!!

Well, the Spanair charges have hit my Visa account. It was the $96US/person charge that was done through travelocity.com.
Yippee, it is looking more and more real.

I didn't get in on this deal, but am leaving for a 17 day trip to Spain on June 19th. Has anyone ever rented a car in Spain and/or know of the best company to rent from (i.e. good prices)?

Joining in this thread a little late (too late for the deal, unfortunately!). This sounds somewhat similar to a ticket that I booked to the UK a couple of years back on Expedia.
The Air Canada fare was well over $1200 at the time, and one day a flight from BMI (British Midland - a Star Alliance partner) showed up for about $300 including taxes, completely out of nowhere. It was obviously a code shared flight with Air Canada.
Needless to say I spread the word to family and friends and we booked a bunch of tickets. Most of us were going anyway for a family reunion, so it was a nice treat. We literally saved thousands.
I kept expecting the tickets to be cancelled because the actual cost was less than the taxes alone should have been. It was obviously an error, we jumped on it, and it was corrected within hours.
Right up until I boarded the plane I was expecting something to fall through, but alas, we got there and back and didn't run into any problems whatsoever.
So take that for what it's worth - just one person's experience with a similar situation, but I think that the airline will end up eating it at this point.
Good luck everyone!

Thanks for the info Jimmy. At this point, it's looking like it will be honored.
I did find this post on FlyerTalk (in the thread regarding this particular Spain deal)...

Well, my credit card has been charged, and I can see my itinerary on ac.com. So far so good, but we're not out of the woods yet. (Anyone remember the Mexico MR on AC which was booked on Dec 26, 2007, but was cancelled by AC 6 weeks later?)

And for anyone interested in hitting up Barcelona...I found quite the deal on a five star hotel in september...
http://ca.deals.travelzoo.com/intern...um=email_top20
Quote:
The 5-star Hotel ME Barcelona just released a hot special, reducing room rates to $165 (€107, incl tax) per night. Up to 50% OFF the normal spring and summer rate, and even more for fall and winter, this is an incredible offer from one of Barcelona's newest luxury properties.

Book by June 17.
