bahaha did i see Scrotini throw a punch? Brutal realism for this game.
To be fair, Huggy Bear is actually throwing more punches, especially vs. guys that he has a reasonable chance at with. Otherwise it's the clinch for everybody else.

I swear. If they don't fix the online line change problem this year I'll snap. You have to scroll through the entire 4 lines just to activate the change. And then they all just skate off at the worst time. Maybe introduce a thing that changes the lines when it is somewhat acceptable? Rather than having all 5 go off at once and abandon the ice, leading to 5-on-0s. Sigh.
Also, if they could make my players at least mildly ######ed instead of the full-blown (Tropic Thunder) that they do on the PK. I know you want to make if fun for even the suckiest of players, but really? Having my two D men sink back and get stuck behind the net for an entire PK? Really? ... really? Why do they instantly become completely unable to hold on to the puck or clear? Bah! And why, pray tell, does the game insist on putting the most fatigued line out there, even after I have specifically asked it (usually numerous times) to put the other PK line out there... drives me f'in scatty.
What about the complete lack of a brain when it comes to selecting centermen during overtimes? Down to four players, and it seems completely randomized as to who gets to play centre.
NHL is almost never at e3 ... not that I recall at least. There was a twitter post from somebody saying it was only being shown behind closed doors which is more than I believe has been shown at previous shows. Fingers crossed.

They have fixed this. I saw a video blog where the producer addressed this, and says the Centerman of the line will be taking faceoffs.

Which is kind of funny that it's being billed as a gameplay upgrade. I don't understand coding for video games, but was that really a hard fix to make? I'm shocked that wasn't included in the last big update that changed other noticeable things like the icing face-off position.
I agree with the first comment on that blog. I sincerely hope they didn't put as much time into the fighting as they are making it seem. In my eyes fighting is a very small part of the whole package. I can count the number of times I have fought in 09 on a single hand. I can get on board with the physical play and stuff, but I don't really fight all that much. Perhaps it's just a case of it being a little early and that's the only info they are releasing at this time so it seems like they are focusing on it constantly.
A few of the Oilers were interested in coming by our EA office to get a glimpse of where NHL is made. Fortunately for us, one of those players just happened to be Zack Stortini. Who better to talk fighting with than a real NHL tough guy.
how many tips on fighting can you possibly pick up from Stortini?

“If the guy says something about my mom, then I go crazy on him…” (he didn’t actually say this one but we did have some great conversations about some of the ‘conversations’ that happen on the ice)
the answer to all of the above...just ask Ian Laperriere!

EA can try all they want to make a perfect game and no matter how hard they try they will never beat this hockey game, EVER!
