Where did you get 1-2 million dollars from? I didn't see it in the link you provided.

Yeah, it said $24,000 for the aircraft and that the Obamas paid for their own meal and theatre tickets. I'm not sure where 1-2 million comes from except maybe hatred? Besides that being a HUGE difference... 1-2 million. I think if it cost $150,000 I'd be shocked.

I thought they said that the jets cost 24k and that the dinner and broadway tickets were paid for by the Obamas?

Don't people get it, HE CAN"T FLY COMMERCIAL LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. If he goes anywhere, there are going to be costs associated with that. Do people think that it's reasonable for the President to spend every moment working or in D.C.

Some people don't realize that just because he's the president of the United States, he's still a human being, an might enjoy an evening out with his wife every once in a while.

He just gets to do that in style is all.

I wonder how much Bush's frequent trips to the Crawford ranch cost the taxpayers?

While many families struggle to make ends meet. He's not setting a good example.

Do you just make stuff up to make your point or do you have a link for these numbers? It says right in the article that the dinner and tickets were paid by the Obama's.

Sure the jet costs are ridiculous but did you expect him to book through Expedia and fly commercial? He is the president of the USA!

I wonder if you post this article if a Republican did this while in the white house...my guess is NO!

Okay.. so as I understand it, the President and First Lady, during a recession, should lock themselves cellar dungeon and eat only gruel and water so as to not be wasteful?

If it is the transportation costs that you are complaining about, where are the 149 threads about Bush flying to Camp David for a vacation?

Yes people...lets say he did not have

1. Super advanced 747 (with pilots) fly with rapter escort
2. Week in advance panning to scout, cordon off dangerous roadways and to choose restaurant and show
3. Police escort
4. landing fees for airport (at least 100Gs)
5. surveillance as though he was on a foreign trip (always estimated at close to 1 million)

it ain't abooot hatred. It is about how lost YOU are. Simple estimations

Yes the meals at the White House are known for their gruel.

Where is your link showing the breakdown of the 1-2 million dollars?

Or did you just pull that number out of a hat?

Well he pulled it out of somewhere that is for sure. Don't think it was a hat though.
