Habs acquire D-man

The Canadiens and Blue Jackets have hooked up for a deal. This one sees a power-forward prospect in Matt Marquardt going to the Jackets for RFA Denis Seidenberg.

This helps us by shoring up our bottom 2 pairing. It helps the Jackets clear up some cap and they get Marquardt who is on the Bruins AHL squad and is putting up respectable numbers.

This was a good deal for us as I had no intentions of resigning Seidenberg as I have enough lesser dman already and in return we get a big punishing player who has decent hands as well. Plus he is a Bruin so that makes him better right there.

I really don't get this deal at all from a Jackets point of view. A NHL caliber defenseman who played 22mins a game all season and had decent point totals for a marginal AHLer. This is a huge win for the Habs here.

Seeing how you're a Bruins fan, you probably have better understanding of what the guy brings. If you weren't re-signing him than a good deal to get a player you know about.
