Season 1 and parts of two suck, but the 4th through is the best of them all. Especially, "In the pale moonlight".
Easily my favorite Sisko episode and probably my favorite Garek episode as well. Who am I kidding, I just love Garek. Probably my favorite character on the show. Wonder if that says anything about me?
To me, Seasons 1 & 2 of TOS and Seasons 4-7 of DS9 are the best Trek out there, ever. TNG laid way too many stinkers in with the classic episodes, far too many holodeck malfunctions and one-off forehead aliens. Only Patrick Stewart's acting skills can salvage many of the TNG episodes.
TOS and DS9 were also the grittiest and most capable of good character drama with realistic and likeable characters. Picard was a great character, but the way he was written at times made him hard to like. (The best example to me is the episode where O'Brien's former captain goes rogue, and despite him being correct about the Cardassians plotting for war, as they did throughout the series, culminating in DS9, Picard and the Federation refuse to act... they'd rather destroy the career of a great Starship Captain. It would be like Picard getting court martialled at the end of Insurrection because the Federation didn't like the way he ignored authority and risked war with the So'na).
DS9 was an excellent reaction to TNG, that humanity's enlightened arrogance and pacifistic views would lead to the destruction of the Federation. That the Federation had gotten lucky way too many times (all the deus ex machina with the Borg for instance) and their luck was about to run out. In essence, it took a return to the imperfect world of TOS, and going deeper into the darker trends TOS glossed upon to recover. Sisko was unique in the fact that the more badass and morally dubious he got, the more likeable he became as well.
Voyager was the real sequel to TNG, with the same "enlightened arrogance" as TNG (like Janeway's condescending comments about starship crews in Kirk's day), but with a weak cast, a mishandled premise, and an abundance of B-grade stories.
Enterprise was a mess... by the time it got good, it was already cancelled.

I believe it's the timeship relativity to be exact.
Sometimes a good memory is not good....
That's the one that he commands, he had another one man timeship that crashed into mid 20th century earth. However, the timeline changed and in the end, his one man ship wasn't destroyed.
I've seen it 3 times... and have yet to be bored at all so far. Never thought I'd ever find myself liking Star Trek so much. Can't wait for the next one.

I've seen it 3 times too and I enjoyed at as much or more each successive time.
I am seeing it again on Saturday.

I think Enterprise gets a bad wrap. It had a terrible theme song and I thought they shot themselves in the foot going too heavy on a consecutive episode storyline (where they could and should have done more stand alone episodes)
but there were some real gems.
I forget what season it was but there was a 3 episode storyline about the origins of religion and logic on Vulcan that was vintage stuff. I thought it was strong enough to rank up there with some of the best trek ever.

That was season 4. Manny Coto almost saved the show. But by the time it became watchable again everyone had checked out.
this episode cemented in my mind that Sisko was the most badass captain in any of the Star Trek series. the intelligence and reasoning of Picard, the take no **** approach of Kirk, and having a black captain was just plain cool. another episode i really liked from that series was the one where Sisko was a writer in 1940's America, and DS9 was all in his head. loved seeing the racial struggle angle in Star Trek that no other show ever could provide, being that by that time race didn't matter in Star Fleet
as for the new movie, just got back from finally getting a chance to see it and was very impressed. did a great job of reviving the classic franchise and paving a path for them to show entirely new plotlines. i also like the alternate reality explanation vs. destroying the original timeline completely, i hope they have old Spock expand on that a bit in the sequel to appease the hardcore trekkies like Devil'sAdvocate. really looking forward to seeing what direction they want to go in now
