Flyers Off-Season
Flyers would like to trade pending UFA Mike Ribiero.
The Flyers are also looking to sell their 5 2009 2nd round draft picks for next years cap.
Others can be had depending on who you want.

The Habs have acquired the Flyer's 2nd round pick (37th Overall), for $1.15mm in cash. We wanted to get one more pick in the Top 40 as we feel there are a number of quality selections in this range. We may have overpaid for this selection, but then again it might be fair value; trading cash for a prospect is always a bit tricky.
The draft is my favourite part of the entire game, so I'm okay with paying to make an additional selection.

All the 2nd rounders have been sold. the last 4 went together to the Wild for 3.5 mill.
So in all the 5 picks got me 4.65 mill in cap money. Thanks Simmer and Jiri for easy dealing.

Flyers acquire Alexander Radulov for Martin Karsum, Tomas Kundratek and 2010 3rd round pick.
Its a gamble but if he returns, it'll be worth it if not ah well, we gave decent guys but nothing insane.

ya with all the young talent i have, its worth the risk. 5 first rounders this year and next as well, filatov, couture, parent, etc sitting in the minors/echl it would've been hard for these guys to crack my lineup in the long run, unless they had insane seasons.
ah well.

Flyers acquire Horton
To Minnesota:
Brad Boyes
To Philadelphia:
Nathan Horton
Prospect Eric Walsky
Colorado 2009 2nd round pick
I didn't have any intentions of moving Boyes, but wanted to make a deal, so made a lateral move. Horton is a decent sim player and hopefully bounces back in the NHL.
We than traded the 2nd round pick (Col) to Colorado for 750K.
Thanks Wild and Avs for the deals.

I believe in the Pony Power
|
Horton was huge for the Wild this year but the bottom line is Boyes is higher rated and is a better NHLer and signed for a couple years still.
Real easy deal though - came together from scratch in about 5 minutes. No nickel and dimeing just value for value.

As stated above appears to be a pretty straight forward deal that works for both clubs.

Flyers move up from the 27th to 19th after making this deal.
To Nashville:
Andrew Ebbett
Chicago 1st 2009
To Philadelphia:
Nashville 1st 2009
We have some guys we are targeting, this will help getting them.
The Flyers also acquired Neimi from Kings for 2010 3rd round draft of Minnesota.

All pretty even trades. I like the 1st round trade for Nashville a bit more as they got a sure thing out of it and they could use the young talent. Good move for them.

Seems like a pretty even deal again....Kings get a solid shutdown guy which is what they were looking for, Flyers get a Canuck and a decent goaltender for Detroit.

Flyers move up in the draft.
The Flyers get the 12th overall
The Jackets get our 19th overall(Nas) and couple of prospects in Martin Jones and Brock Bradford.
With 4 selection from 6th overall to 15th overall this now really gives us the luxury of selecting who we want with those picks. We obviously like many guys in that range so would be happy taking any 4 of them.
We are still looking to move up from the 28th if anyone is interested.

Somewhat questionable deal for the Jackets. IMO this draft has a distinct Top 15 and only getting those prospects isn't enough to warrant a drop 7 spots.

Agreed, however I am not familiar with the two prospects that were picked up by the Jackets, so he probably knows something I don't about these guys.

Bradford - early candidate for Hoby Baker last year, fell out of the race at the end of the season.
Jones - if you follow Hitmen than you know who he is.
