I suppose I would rather put this one out there myself than wait for someone else to bring it up:

To Atlanta:
Mark Parrish
Adrian Aucoin

To Nashville:
Derian Hatcher
Curtis Glencross
3rd Rd. pick
$1 million

The deal might look even, but dare I remind you that at the time Hatcher was making $10 million...and then re-rated down by 4pts...and then I bought him out.

I'm not proud of it...but it happened.

I remember giving you a bad time about that deal at the time. But today...with Hatcher now gone, Parrish eventually moved out and bought out and what you have to show, it's not bad. Certainly not a franchise ruiner.

In hindsight its not terrible. I still wanted to post it myself though, rather than let someone beat me to the punch!

(Another acceptable reply would've been: That deal is horrible, but I'm still voting for Steve in NJ!)

Let me nominate myself:

To Devils:

Randy Jones, D
2009 3rd

To Sharks:

Steve Mason, G
2009 2nd

Yeah, what happened with him was 1 in 1000. Still. I can suck this one up. No voting needed.

Yeah this was not the best move made by me but I think that it worked out OK. Fehr has stuck with the Caps and is decent, not great or good but decent. McLean was a great addition, 4th liner who got 21 goals for me and was decent defensively. The 2 2nd rounders were nice as well.

Sure on the flip side I swear that Richards got half his points for the year in the few games that we played but that is something different.

I have to say on the Hiller trade, he did play well in the NHL, but for me he was HORRIBLE. He could not stop anything and could not finish a game that he started. I tried to trade him a few times but could get no bites at all.
With Toivonen he was able win some games and gave Garon some much needed time off. Also in that trade we got Andre Petersson who may be a pretty good offensive prospect.
So overall it was hard to give up Hiller seeing that he was a good young player but at the time I figured he would get no play time behind JSG so he may not get rated for as good as he is. And with him not winning for me it made it easier to give him up.
