to mail a cheque you need to write the ticket number on the back of the cheque as well as include the ticket in the mail with the cheque. You might be SOL on the mailing option.

Rats. Oh well, no worries. I just get embarrassed paying for things like these in public. Ugh.

Don't worry, there will be a big long line of people down there with you. If you are going down to pay it you may as well talk to the Crown and get the fine reduced, wont take much longer that just paying the ticket.

Yeah there's nothing worse than the condescending, judging eyes of those who are also there to pay/argue fines of a similar or worse nature.
True story though, I went to pay a photo radar ticket at the courts building a few months ago and I put it off the whole day for the same reason. Once I got there, down the way from the cashier line at the Justice of the Peace counter some a-hat was making a scene because the JOP wouldn't go easy on him for his dangerous driving charge. At that moment all embarassment I had regarding my 15Km/hr photo radar ticket went out the window.

Haha, what the heck do I tell them? That I don't feel like paying the full ticket?
I was going 41 in a playground zone. Of course, that was me trying to slow down fast after I realized I entered one. I just happen to get dinged right when i was over.
Should I tell them that?

Exactly, plead guilty with consideration for your following story. Depending on the day, the JOP at the time, they might reduce the fine. There's no downside risk to doing so. The worst that can happen is they deny you and you whip out your Credit card and pay the fine you were originally willing to pay anyways.

Well I did lose my original ticket, all I have is the ticket number. Would the judge still consider a sob story for a guy without the radar ticket that was mailed to him?

I am 99.9% sure he will reduce your fine. Just tell them money is tight right now and you are wondering if he can help you out at all on the fine.

No dice with the JOP. The line was too long, and it wasn't worth it for me to sit there for over an hour just to argue down $20-40. Meh, oh well.
On the plus side, you DON'T have to pay that service fee that registries charge (which is about $10) if you go pay it at the Courts Centre.
All in all, I just won't speed through a Playground zone...Everybody knows those are the biggest speeding traps anyways lol...

The guys who run the sight are former cops of Calgary - how ironic eh? lol. They actually do help out well.
