Default Islam will become world's dominant religion in 5 years

This video is a little wacko, but it shows the numbers well.

I certainly am not spreading the 'call to action' message it tries to.

Thoughts?

My personal view is that the world will not benefit from such a strong muslim presence. Too much religion is not healthy for a progressing society. I also can't say I'm too excited to live in a muslim dominated world.

I'm trying not to be insulting to anyone here...

There's a strange coincidence. Last week I was in NS visiting a friend and his dad took us golfing. In the car, we were chatting about stuff and he brought up this exact topic. Alomst word for word he told me the same thing. Bet he got it from this video.

I bet that if I email this video to my dad, within a day he'll email it back in a mass emailing to all us kids and all his church friends. Lol. I'm gonna try it...

And apparently, Atheism reaches 12-15% in China, 59% considered "non-religious", 20-28% a variation of Buddhism and only 2% as Muslim...

2:50 mark of the video.

They say that 90% of France's immigrants are Muslim, then go on to say:

"France
1.8 children/family

Muslims
8.1 children/family"

I have a hard time believing that the Muslim immigrants average 8 children/family...

There are moderates in every religion that make up the vast majority. I think people associate Islam with extremism a little too much. After being inundated with Faux news and the Bush administration for the last 8 years people like to think Muslims are their enemies.

It's a ridiculous video... And I've seen a lot of those...

All of the Muslims that I spend my time with are some of the most outstanding people I've had the pleasure of knowing. Muslims bother me as much as Christians do, as in, not at all. Muslim extremists bug me as much as Christian extremists do, as in, always.

The video is just strange...Muslim issue aside:

"According to research, in order for a culture to maintain itself for more than 25 years, there must be a fertility rate of 2.11. With anything less, the culture will decline.

Historically, no culture has ever reversed a 1.9 fertility rate. A rate of 1.3...impossible to reverse."

Then it tells us...

"France 1.8
United States 1.6
Canada 1.6
England 1.6
Greece 1.3
Germany 1.3
Italy 1.2
Spain 1.1"

So the video is suggesting that every single one of the above nations would die off? Right...

The video just reeks of religious piling on...

I'm getting more of a "we're all gonna be brown and praying on our knees in 50 years if us good white christian folk don't start producing more christian kids" vibe from it.

The nations won't die. Just the cultures that maintain them.

A 2006 paper by the Brookings Institute calls shenanigans on the main underlying assumption of the video:

Although French Muslims of African or Turkish origin are typically younger than the rest of the French population, fertility rates among immigrant women tend to conform with the French norm after their arrival. The gap in fertility rates between immigrant women and French women is 0.46. While Europe on the whole is experiencing declining birth rates, there are two demographic exceptions: France and Ireland. In France, the fertility rate is 1.94 children born per woman (2005.) (In comparison, the U.S. fertility rate is 2.08 children born per woman.) Without immigrant women, this figure would drop by 0.05 children born per woman. In other words, one can hardly speak of a "demographic time bomb," "colonization in reverse," or the "Islamicization of France."

Also, does anyone really believe Gaddafi refers to them as "homicide bombers"? Even Bush dropped that along with freedom fries.

Cultures and religions innevitably become displaced or evolve over time. Especially when you purposely open up resource conduits. When the Romans spread their economic empire east, it opened up a flood of eastern immigration which brought with it, many scientific and cultural changes - including Christianity and Judaism. The west is doing the same thing this time, mainly for oil and cheap labour (blame capitalism if you have a problem with labour mobility).

In the end, I think if any muslim was somehow picturing a "muslim world" in the cultural shape of Arab or Middle Eastern culture, the joke is probably on them. It will likely become a "westernized" form of Islam, just like what happened with Christianity and Judaism.

I actually did "laugh out loud" at that silly video.

We have more to fear from the religious loons that are already here.

I bet about 1500 years ago a bunch of Pagans were sitting around there huts thinking, ", this Christianity thing is going to rule the world in like 1000 years."
