Default My car got broken in to.

Stupid fataing vandals. I guess I forgot to lock my doors last night, and when I came out to my truck this morning there were papers from my glove box and center console all over my seats. Everything was left open, including my ash trays and stuff.

Luckily, I don't keep anything of value in there, (ipod, cash etc). My remote locks failed me.

At least they didn't smash the window in or destroy anything.

They did, however, get away with about $0.85 in change from my cupholder.

I live in Braeside, SW. Lock your vehicles, people.

So your car got broken into and you are out 85 cents? Nothing broken... I guess this is a lesson learned.

Do you keep your insurance and registration in your glove box? What about a garage door opener?

Car got busted into a couple years ago, stole about $5 worth and broke my driver side window in -30 weather in Deadmonton. Damage was $180, I know leave my doors open, less of a hassle.

I think you can report stuff like this online- that way at least there's a record of # of break-ins.

As somebody who had their car stolen a couple of years ago; I can feel for you.

I have reported it, and my insurance was in there. Why? Is there any way they could do some damage with my insurance info?

Christ, I live in Braeside. You near 19th st perchance? On more than one occasion, I have been driving down the street and see those herds of kids walking along checking to see if anyone forgot to lock their vehicle.

I can't wait to move out of Braeside, not the same community I moved into 10 yrs ago.

Make sure all your registration and insurance documents are still there. Thieves are taking that stuff for identity theft purposes. It happened in my building a couple of years ago; someone broke into like 30 cars and took documents.

Actually I haven't looked. It was in a blue folder that was still in there, so I assumed no... but I will check right away.

I live on Braxton Rd. We're pretty close by to some attached homes, and I think a lot of riff raff lives there. We hear fireworks and crap from time to time, so nothing serious, until this.

Yeah, the lesson is keep nothing of value in the car. Let them browse and leave. It saves on broken windows.

Ok, hang on, nothing was taken (cept 85 cents), and nothing was damaged? Am I reading this correctly? You said vandals, but you didn't mention anything broken.

I don't think I'd bother the police with this, if that's the case. Just make sure your doors are locked next time.

I had a funny (not funny at the time) situation once where my car was broken into. You could tell they tried to start it somehow case the ignition cylinder had been pulled apart and there was a screwdriver in the car. Again, they took some change, but that was it. The 'funny' part was there was a Wendy's bag in the car with garbage from a combo of sorts and the seats were reclined. So apparently, they broke in, had a leisurely lunch, maybe a nap, and then left later.

It was an an underground parking stall in my building, but the building wasn't completely finished yet, so I'm thinking it was probably some workers.

Well they didn't leave me a freaking fruit basket either. Fact is, they B&E'd so I think I owe it to my community to report this trash. In my report I told them just that. I emailed it to them.

I'm not looking for follow-up or to have swat in front of my house!!
