While a star being consumed by a black hole isn't the same as a supernova, it still creates a lot of high energy type stuff so rather than destroy something in a short time, it'd destroy it slowly with a sleet of high energy radiation or in smaller bursts of energy.

I certainly liked this movie, but I would have to watch it a couple more times before I could even begin to think about jumping into this discussion.
If you guys would like to discuss just how hot I thought Chris Pine was in this movie though, that would be fine.

I actually enjoyed all of DS9 but I, personally, feel that ST: DS9 from seasons 4 to 7 is the best the franchise has ever been.
