Well that episode diverged from the known timeline by a lot.

I'm hoping that they renew the show, even for a shortened run. But the idiots out there want reality T.V. with vapid people and no thinking required.
This was a brilliant episode, and I would love to see some resolution to why John Conner is not in the future time line, and how the split in Skynet came around, and what John Henry did.
What a great finale.

Fantastic finale.
All I can say about it, the music coupled at the ending really made it even more special.

The liquid terminator that flowed into Weaver was the eel from the fish tank.

John wasn't in the future time line because it wasn't far enough into the future where he is signficiant. His father was there, which means he hadn't travelled back to 1984 to protect his mother as a teenager and impregnate her and then die. I bet John Connor will begin his rise at any time now, and his father will be sent back within the year.

The finale was great. Unfortunately, if this is the last episode I feel a little bit mad that it took this long for the writers to figure out what makes this show work.

You know, as much as I liked that show, I think I'd be OK with them ending it there.
Other than what the other terminators were up to, everything's more or less wrapped up in some fashion -- John's survived judgment day and is ready to lead humanity, he's met a non-metal Cameron so that relationship can begin for real, we're able to follow the full timeline from pre-judgment times, through judgment day to John meeting his Dad and knowing he's the one to send back, etc.
And TBQH, most of what I enjoyed about the show would be lost if it's now and action-centric show set in the future and the interaction between John and Sarah is gone.
Edit: Nice to see a cameo from Joshua Malina who was on Sportsnight, another great show that ended too soon.

Great twist to end the season and, hopefully, set up another.
I assume that was Human Cameron, eminently boinkable by one John Conner in an alternate time-line and, if we didn't get it, making nice to a machine-hating dog, before she's replicated as a robot.
Sure, they could end the series right there . . . . . but hell no!!!

Ah, interesting comment... That would make sense in regards to Cameron.....
As for Weaver, I wonder if she is the same Terminator which was on the Sub in a previous eposide?

Damn, besides that odd episode where Sarah was in the hospital, what a season, and the last two episodes were great.

Human Cameron? That was Allison, a resistance member Cameron was interrogating before she killed her.
Awesome finale, to be quite honest I did not expect it to be this good, I think S. Manson really nailed her character in the last couple of scenes.
Really hope there will be a 3rd season. I thought the show was toast, but I think the writers really made their case with such a finale, this story deserves to continue.

Yeah, I think so, because she and the Sub terminator asked agent Ellis/Jesse to deliver the same message (question) to Cameron; and the eel was just a visual detail to further reinforce this fact.

Oh man, that would be such a terrible disaster if this show was canceled. Last time a show was canceled on me after an awesome season finale was Space: Above and beyond. I have no desire to go through that disappointment again.
So, pretty clear to say that Weaver is somehow with the good guys but what could be gained be bringing John to the future? Not to mention, who made that flying machine go smashing into the side of the office tower and why? Sure they answered a number of questions but brought up a couple biggies in the process.

I just saw the latest episode last night, and thought it was on one of the better ones. I always wanted to see the gangbanger chick get back into it somehow.
Hope that wasn't it for the series.
Wonder where John Henry ended up.

I hope they renew this show because the storyline possibilities are fantastic to say the least.
I mean its clear that he jumped ahead of his suppossed rise to become leader of the resistance, so Skynet in this time line will no longer see Conner as a threat since he's not the leader so its not going to send a terminator back in time to kill Sarah Conner.
Meanwhile, John's sole purpose is to take over the resistance and find a way to get Kyle Reese back in time to poke his mother so he can be born.
Meanwhile in the present day timeline, none of the events happened that sent the two arnolds back to prevent his death or the Cameron terminator. But with his knowledge he might be able to save the human alison and prevent the rise of the Cameron.
My guess is that beyond the future wars Conner has to start screwing around with the time line to guarantee his birth.

Fox cancels a great show. Again. Surprise surprise.
Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly confirmed at a press conference this morning. "I think it had a nice little run. It was a good show. It was not an either or [with Dollhouse]. We did see it tailing off a bit [in the ratings]. It had a nice creative core, but, ultimately, we made the bet on Dollhouse, so that's it for [Sarah Connor]... We make no apologies. We gave it a lot of support and some consistent scheduling. We tried and thought it was time to move on."
Wow so much BS in one short paragraph. Of course it was Terminator or Dollhouse, who are they kidding? I liked Dollhouse but I think Terminator had more potential to develop an interesting story and MUCH better actors (Dekker notwithstanding).
Consistent scheduling? What a joke.
