Default Scam the scammers?

A friend of mine wants to send bogus information to one of those scammers asking for his bank account information. I'm not sure this is a good idea. Maybe he'll just get more of this crap. Comments?

He'd just like to mess with, wasting their time thinking they have a dupe. He thought he'd like to lead one along as long as he can. I told him it might be risky.

Maybe set an account up just for this purpose? I can see the comedy of this...as long as its someone else trying it!

There's a pretty strong chance nothing would come of it, but if it was my friend I'd advise he just air on the side of caution and avoid it. You never know the type of person you're screwing with. He could have tons of free time and little problem cranking the annoyance to 11.
