Lind hits a 3 run HR to give the Jays a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the 4th.

Ok, what the hell did Tampa do to cause them to end up with their pitcher batting third?

Yep. 7 innings 8 Ks, just another day out for the best pitcher in the game.
Edit: Jays win, Halladay is 8-1.

Hopefully Grienke blows up soon so Doc can continue his quest for another Cy, unperturbed.

So, are you Jay fans now thinking this team is for real? Big series this week vs the Red Sox. Almost 2 full months into the season and they are still rolling right along, the surprise of MLB imo.

I don't know what to make of them to be honest.
But I'm going to enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts.

they are better than I thought they would be...but i still dont see them staying on top of the East much longer. However it does look like the Sox and the Yanks have some issues of their own and TB just hasnt got it going at all yet. Only a 1/4 of the season gone...so way too eary to know much of anything.
As for surprise of the season thus far...they are one story but the Texas Rangers are also a huge surprise as well as the Royals.

I agree the Rangers start is unreal, I expected the Royals to be better this year.

I'm being a little hesitant still just due to the fact that it's not hard for them to screw up.
Seriously though, there's already 5 teams that can be written off and some that aren't far behind.
If they can manage to open up a 10 game lead on the Wild Card, then I'll believe that they're for real (they're at 4.5 right now)

Grienke has it in him to be an exceptional MLB pitcher. If he has his personal problems sorted out, he is likely to stay in the CY race till the end.

One thing about this years Jays that hasn't been there in the past...
They are demolishing the teams they are supposed to be beating. Last year, year before, year before that...the Yankees, Sox and other powerhouses weren't the problem...it was beating teams like Cleveland, Detroit, Tampa, Texas, Seattle that were the problem.
Not the case this year.
I hate getting excited about this team, but man..if they made playoffs...that would be unreal.

The thing that makes me think that they're for real is that they've managed to get the best record in the league without winning more than three games in a row or losing more than two. It's not like Boston who had a great 11 win stretch and otherwise have gone 11-16 and have had three 3-game losing streaks. They've consistently had good hitting and good pitching. Consistency is a great sign.
I think critics are putting too much on how the Jays perform against Boston; it's like everyone is waiting to see how the first series against Boston goes before deciding whether the season will be a success or not. But going 3-0 won't clinch anything and going 0-3 won't eliminate them from anything; especially when it looks likely Halladay won't start in either of the first two series against Boston (based on how the rotation works out).

I refuse to get excited about this team until about 81 games in, I just do.
IF, at the 81 game mark, they are still leading the div, then I'll be excited.
They are damn fun to watch right now though.
Adam Lind is making a serious run at displacing Aaron Hill as my favorite ballplayer too, (though I'm not a big fan of the DH position). Guy's been huge. Tonight's homer was ridiculous. When he was stepping up to the plate, I said "Lind's getting a big hit here, I can tell by the look on his face". Sure enough.
So, to sum up, not getting excited yet, but definitely enjoying the ride so far.

^I agree they are fun to watch. It's cliche - but they play the game the right way. A ton of hustle from guys like Scutaro, pitchers pitching to contact, and a lot of young energy. I was very pessimistic entering this year because of all the injured arms but I'm starting to become a believer in these guys. I still don't like Wells in at the clean-up spot and I think sometimes they could run a little more...but those are minor quibbles.
It's also good to see Cito having so much success.

The fact that they never give up is also something that I love. I can cheer for any team no matter how they do, as long as they show some fight.
