Weirdest/Hardest Video Games You've Ever Played
Boy and his Blob was just plain crazy. I mean, you feed this blob jelly beans to get him to change into different objects. And the game had soooo many dead ends, you would have to reset the game after 4 hours of playing to start over again because you were stuck in a hole. Yet i loved it still.

Castle of Doctor Creep
More of a maze game with lasers.

Brothers In Arms was a terrible game, it was so dark you couldn't even see anything.
The original Ninja Turtles was pretty hard as well. Just ask angry nintendo nerd..
Edit: Ha! So I am not the only one..

I remember playing an NES game called; "Deadly Towers". It was downright brutal. I couldn't figure out for the life of what we you were supposed to do.

Loved that game, but yes, I never beat it.
It's funny, games made like 15+ years ago were damn near impossible. And the games made these days I can beat in less than 10 hours. LOL
Donkey Kong for the SNES was pretty hard. It never saved, and I think you only had a certain amount of lives, I played that game for years and I have never beaten it.

I was going to post "the original ninja turtles game".
Has anyone here actually beat it? I think the closest I ever got was the level after the water with the van.

Maniac Mansion
Had it for Commodore 64. Never passed it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maniac_Mansion
Quote:
Maniac Mansion was notable for its multiple possible endings, depending on which characters the player used (and which ones survived) and what those characters did. For instance, you can send the adversary off into space, or have him arrested by the Meteor Police, or make him famous by having his autobiography published, or, in some versions, feed him to the mutant plant. Unusual for Lucas games, it is possible to get the player characters killed, and the loss of all characters also loses the game.
The game was somewhat notorious for featuring red herrings, such as a chainsaw for which there was no fuel...

I got to the fourth world once, but was down to like one turtle,
castlevania 1 was hard, I don't think i even made it past the 3rd swamp level.
I used to think mario 2 was hard... until i realized pressing up would get you through the doors.

Ghosts and Goblins. Did anybody ever finish that game?
http://classicgaming.gamespy.com/Vie...m.Detail&id=17
Quote:
Yes, after you finally manage to guide Arthur past legions of undead creatures, hopping skeletons, blue and red devils, hulking Cyclopses, flying dragons, and huge swooping demons -- without taking more than one hit -- you get to fight Satan in his throne room. Once you beat him, Arthur and Prin Prin are reunited at long last, right? Wrong. A message informs you that what you've just beaten is an illusion devised by Satan, and you must go all the way back to the graveyard and fight your way through the game a second time. To make things worse, the difficulty -- which was no cakewalk the first time around -- has been ratcheted up. There are even more enemies everywhere, and they move and shoot notably faster. By this time, Arthur has to be wondering whether Prin Prin is worth all this trouble. (In case you're wondering, Arthur really does get his sweetie back if he can get to Satan and beat him a second time).

Fake ending? You mean I have to put in more quarters?!?!The incredible challenge of Ghosts'n Goblins, coupled with the fact that the game must be beaten twice to be completed once, probably led many players to conclude that the game was literally from Hell.

I got past the water level on Turtles (no genie), the next part is even harder, and the game just gets more and more intense as you go farther. I did beat it with game Genie, and i can tell you, no living mortal could beat that game without cheating.

that was just time consuming leveling up until you were strong enough to fight things.
That was when leveling up was a serious chore, now games have characters naturally progress at the same pace as the story line.
