Stay away from the Storm. You will regret it. The only advantage to the Storm is the screen size for surfing the web or watching video. If that is what is most important to you then go ahead. If your more into typing emails and instant messaging. Go with something else. One of the biggest complaints about the Storm is typing on the screen. If you plan to type a lot go with a qwerty device.

By browsing threads at crackberry alone you will find over half the people hate it. Why flip a coin? Personally I would be more comfortable with something that has a much higher approval rating.

There's still restrictions on unlimited data with Telus/Bell. You can't tether or use 3rd party browsers. I'll see if I can find the link for this.

I don't know much about it, but I hear some people are tethering with some sort of black market app for BB.

See, this upsets me, because its by far the coolest one, but it has to work, right? I'm just wondering if they've fixed it or if its still junk.

Any happy Storm users?

I was excited about it as well initially. Upon reading numerous crappy reviews and seeing first hand how upsetting it was for some of my co-workers and customers. I decided to wait for something else.

Some people like it. Check out the forums on crackberry. Tonnes of useful information and opinions there.

I'm on there reading a Storm thread in the Storm Forum right now, apparently the reason some people hate it is because of the OS, some of this is over my head. I'm still doing some research on it, because I really kind of want one, but not if its a POS.

One of my coworkers got a Storm a few months ago. Generally, I think she likes it. However, it's strangely satisfying after she was gloating about her new toy to see her struggle to insert a cursor or spell words properly.

This kind of stuff I understand. I've never had one before, the only time I've ever even used one was during the playoffs I stole troutman's at the bar to make crude jokes about Olli jokinen under someone elses username.

So there will be a learning curve, and I'm cool with that. I also wont be comparing it to any other amazing phones, the one I have now is just very simple because my previous phone got stolen and I replaced it with this. I'm not going to be bragging to anyone about my 'amazing new phone' because I'm not nerdy like that. Except maybe to Slava.

I'm cruising the crackberry forums right now and most people seem generally pleased with it. In a poll of "Would you buy the Storm knowing what you know now" more that double the people said yes, its like 92 to 43. So thats encouraging.

Well I stuck with the curve while my partner made the leap to the Storm...he hates it. I don't really care that much about a phone honestly. But I do want one that works...so I might be switching to the iPhone.

I think I'm taking the plunge in about 2 hours. I've made up my mind. Going with a Curve.

This is my first post from it. It'll take some getting used to.

I have the 8310 curve and so far it has been really good to me. Since I saw your post I thought I would post this from the phone as well, not bad.

I wish I had wifi as well but I have been hard pressed to come anywhere close to my 500MB limit on the plan.

All and all good choice, solid phone.

8230.

All you need is for your company to set you up with a Bb activation account and password.

Make sure your Bb is setup with Data provisioning (1XEV)

Then when your company gives you the activation password go...

Options > Advanced Options > Enterprise Activation and putin your email address and password and activate.

It should take no more than 3 hours. Everything, Email, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Notes etc wirelessly syncs. There is no reason to plug it into the computer.

I resisted the Bb but now its about 20% of my job and I have grown to love it. Love google maps, love the notes feature with wireless sync etc.

The wireless sync requires your company to have Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) installed and setup. Not every company has that (mine doesn't... yet) so don't get too excited.

Sorry, I should have clarified, my U of C email is Webmail, you log into it through a webpage, my work email (telus.net) is set up and works like a dream, but my primary personal email account is my U of C webmail account. Anyway I can make that work on here?

No. At least I am not aware of one. Regular webpages can really load slow. The mobile sites are alot more user friendly. You should push for CP to have a mobile site.
